Guys this topic is long overdue on this podcast. I’m a 46 year old very dark skinned Nigerian woman and if I tell you I have stories on this topic, it would be an understatement. I wish I could have a platform to share some of these stories and weird/horrible experiences and their impact on my mental health and confidence growing up and even as an adult. Suffice to say that I’m very grateful that you guys finally discussed this. Thank you ladies! Always a big big fan of your podcast..
I ran into Jola and Chidera at Ebeano, I nearly screamed “the bounce is back!!!” but I was with company so I decided to save us all the embarrassment 😆🤣 I hope they found what they were looking for xx
I would rather watch you guys so I can see your faces/expressions when you talk than just listen to the audio. It makes for a better experience. Gives us both options please 🙏🏾
I can relate to most of these experiences, i remember a cosmetics shop owner in Central Market Kaduna telling my mum that he has a cream that will make me fairer and more beautiful, trust me and my Mum saying my beauty was more than enough, Interestingly the house i was in boarding house was pro black (unconsciously), our royal family train during interhouse sports were mainly dark skin girls. I was looking forward to my dark skinned babies, my first child shocked me sha, he is light skinned.
22:02 😂😂 Jola admits to being crazy This conversation>>> And in secondary school, we had a running joke that the school only used fairer people on their billboards for advertisement (which was proven a lot😅)
Hello Ma'am, I have seen your channel. Your videos are very informative but if you use good quality thumbnails then you will get more views so I can help you, do you need a stunning thumbnail?
If you make it the full thing, we will watch it honestly

OMG the sweet and sour sauce and black bean sauce is such a staple in my house for Chinese. And of course, you can never go wrong with spring rolls.
Gosh, Jola is hilarious 😂
She absolutely is!!!!
This is the first time I listened to the podcast before watching on RUclips. Boy, the cut and join.. Snipping out my fave juicy parts of the convo 😅
Hope the announcement is that you will start putting full episodes on here 🙏🏾

I so much enjoyed this episode. Great one Ladies😁
A discussion that's needed
I guess Adumaradan ( a lady who's dark skin shines) is the word Jola was trying to remember.
Love it!
Did you guys plan the red and blue?!
Joining the queue - third! 😅
I love Jola so much😂😂
I think the Yoruba phrase Jola was looking for is 'Apon ba epo re'. I hope my Yoruba typing isn’t rubbish 🙈
Love you babes ❤❤❤
