They tend to be pretty high gear ratio and not backdrivable. Though I have made some smaller ones with lower ratios that can be, as long as there is no resistance on the sun gear.
@@TroyMackay Thanks! Might have to look more into it then. There's a specific design called the "bilateral drive" that somehow manages to make them easily backdrivable up to ~100:1 redution ratios.

It all prints in place, but the parts can become stuck together. Just needs to be freed up after printing.
