That cinema that Jimmi refers to in downtown Kirinyaga Road (Grogan) is called Casino Cinema and still exists. It's just a few hundred meters from the world-famous Casino Clinic. Things were so tight that you had to sit with your feet on the back of the seat in front of you coz rats ran all around the floor. They used to show Bruce Lee, Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris, and Sylvester Stallone action movies all day for 10/-. The memories... woooiii! Then there was Eastlands Cinema - six movies for one ticket - I need not elaborate on what movies they screened😂😂😂
The prodigal son story is so inspiring🙌🏾
Cyrus Gikori had a radio show on Nation FM playing jazz in the early 2000s if I'm not wrong. Jesus MCs...wueh! Sema kutoka mbali?

This!!!!!❤❤❤ Especially that religion era
May Allah bless your mum. Its no wonder our Prophet Muhammad, (may peace and blessings be upon him) said when asked who deserves our companionship the most, he answered “ your mum” and then asked then who? He said “ your mum”, then who “ your mum” then who? “ your dad”! Mothers are very important.

I'm so glued coz Jimmie' s story is something out of this world
I used to attend NGT (Nairobi Gospel Tabernacle) at KNUT Hall which later moved to South B Shopping Centre. Rev. Charles Muyu and his wife Akiiki Mbabazi Muyu were the founders.
Rev Muyu used to call them "Crusade Singers" and they grew into a larger group that included the lead Philip Muonga, Becky Rhoda, Betty, Geena, and of course Cyrus Gikori, Jimmi Gathu, Charles Kiarie (Kinan), Victor Mulandi, James Inzoberi and others I probably don't remember.
We were heartbroken when they split and went their separate ways, though most of them I believe, left the country.
