    Jimmy, you are so right!! Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar taught Michael Jackson the moonwalk (it was called the backslide back in the day on Soul Train). MJ then went on to popularise it when he performed 'Billie Jean' in the Motown 25th Anniversary Concert and did what he called the moonwalk. As an OG, this has taken me back...way back to the days of breakdance competitions in primary school. IYKYK!!

      True. I remember we used to compete each other in dancing them and one style was later abolished was head spinning. Those were the days. Very nostalgic.

    Haki i remember jimmy kwa kiss fm,i guess Saturday afternoon kulikuwa na kipindi ilikuwa inaitwa cross fire…his voice was 🔥

    Jimmi Gathu you grew up during my time........black and white TV.....later the breakdance era ,we danced outside Kenya Cinema............visions........beat house..............ainsworth......bubbles.............carnivore...then you joined KTN ..............RADIO................Hits not homework............you are a walking encyclopedia.I am proud of you!

    Dunia wiki hii gave me trauma as a kid. Why? Because of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. Just seeing the war used to scare me.

      professional view was very boring, but it had great interviews. mambo Leo there was wrestling and solid gold - solid gold was a music show huko at night. the stage performances were out of the world. My parents loved to dance, so that show was not considered adult only by them. and Sunday afternoon, I think all families listened to radio- Je huu ni Ungwana?

    omg!!! Jimmy you have taken us back! Yes, I remember kbc. It used to start at 5.30pm and watching sixie (6 million dollar man) was such a privilege! @Cleaning the airwaves thank you! Thank you!     Watching Dunia Wiki hii back then was an outlet to international news and events. Funny enough nothing much as changed coz the news then was wars between Palestine and Israel or Some was stuff going in middle east .. it was kinda scary for me as a kid.

    Was telling my kids recently how tv started at 4pm, black and white and mostly CNN. KTN took 10 years to get to Mombasa (I think) after first launch in Nrb. Watched neighbours when I visited my sis in Nrb, music was on tapes and by the time a song hit Kenya, it was no longer a hit in the US 😂😂

    Sadly, when the media space was liberalised most of the content VOK had were either stolen by guys who used to work for VOK/KBC and sold to the present day stations. I am told if you go your the KBC archive vaults,it's almost empty. How we would do with such content.

    At first TV ilikua inaanza 5:00 p.m, the they improved and took it to 4:00 p.m. Reason I remember is that my older bro used to tell me to sit by the clock and tell him when the first number turned to 5 and the others to 00. I was in nursery school and had just learnt to count to10....
