Actually, the oil refineries are for plastics production. Power generation in the Alien universe comes mainly from nuclear fusion.

This is supposed to be cinematic but took 3 sittings for my party. We are just slow and talkative I guess.
Cinematic seems to be an excursion into acting at the expense of agency. A powerful tool, if you and your group are willing to embrace the limits and focus on the game as performance art.
"It's not for all players" should not be a negative. No game is for all players. I would argue that it's the Alien RPG's strength that it structures its character progression as it does, and that the cinematics (which are again, supposed to be like this) are as deadly as they are.
Pointing out this adventure isn't for everyone wasn't used as a negative....
Characters are supposed to die that’s the point of the threat
