Let me start by saying this cake is so ADORABLE!! I love these longer more in-depth cake videos. So much information to absorb. The $750 price tag did surprise me as I live in southern Indiana and would be lucky to get $100 to $150, people around here would not pay the price a cake decorator deserves !!! You are so blessed to have this type of client. I remember one other of your members said she lives in Lafayette Indiana and has the same issue with pricing. ( she is approx 2 hrs North of me) As always GREAT video!!😍 (Jan not Kelly, LOL)
Thank you love! Unfortunately, location plays a BIG part in pricing. It stinks that there are artists out there that can't charge their worth because of that.!
Gorgeous job as always, Karolyn. Your cakes are worth every penny, though I personally wouldn't choose to spend that much on a baby's first birthday cake. ❤
You gotta make it! It takes a little time, but costs less than buying it and it works so much better. Here's a video I made showing how: ruclips.net/video/iTAzMgpJc9M/видео.html
WE LOVE YOU KAROLYN! Your such a perfectionist. Your work is impeccable! I don’t even make cakes anymore and I I still love watching you. Hope you always have continued success! ❤️ Thank you for sharing and helping us all be better cake decorators.
It's a beautiful cake . Today I had to make number one cake topper .. so I made it like yours I put a flower on top too 😍.. I wish I could upload a picture.. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques Karolyn.. I love you 🥰🌷 God Bless ❤
I'm amazed that when you put those toothpicks into your cake, that they don't push further in when you attach the bees or the flowers....great work! Absolutely love this cake!
A lot of times, I make a hole in the fondant piece with a toothpick first, so I can slide the hole on the toothpick. That prevents it from being pushed in further!
Karolyn you are so talented. Love this cake design and those adorable bees. Your work is impeccable and so beautiful. Thank you for sharing all your tips and techniques, I have learned so much from your videos.
Hi, subscribed few days ago. Love your Chanel!! Do you ever use chocolate ganache to ice a cake? What do you do when you can't use dairy cake and frosting. Thanks ❤
Hi! I have used ganache, I just don't do it unless I'm asked to do so. If people need dairy free cakes, I refer them to another baker as I don't specialize in those specialty cake requests.
Hi Karolyn amazing cake. Question re your fondant. How long does it lasts? Do you make a batch for each cake or do you make batches and keep it for your cakes? Thanks in advance. Be well.
I go through so much fondant, I make it every week. Last week I had 6 big cakes and went through 5 batches of fondant! I store it wrapped in plastic, in a ziplock bag, in an airtight container. It keeps for about 2-3 weeks. Some people say they freeze it for future use. However, I use so much of it that I've never done that.
I linked them in the description! The customer sent me the pic of the topper. For the name, I googled (Genevieve name) and searched images to find one I likes.
I'm a brand new decorator. Teaching myself. I'm trying to grow my RUclips channel (@betterknownasregina) too. I have absolutely loved watching your work. So inspiring and helpful in my learning. Most of all, so transparent and informative for a newbie like me. Thank you!
@@KarolynsKakes I really appreciated your video on condensation. I watched it today. I have been struggling with this as a new decorator. I'm definitely going to use the handout that you provide to your customers.

The amount of patience you have for those flowers…😮
Hence why I really don't make flowers! 😂😂
These aren't annoying to make, they just take a long time.
WOW WOW WOW that sunflower method is awesome!! I'm definitely using this technique! Entire cake is stunning!!
Tess! Thank you my dear! 🙏

I love doing polka dots on borders like this. It takes a little time and a steady hand, but it looks so pretty and is simple to do!
Amazing
where did you get the pictures from the beginning of the video from?

Karolyn!!! This is amazing!! 🤩 I love bees 🐝 and this turned out so cute. The long drive part scurrred me though 🆘
I also LOVE BP clothing 😊
OMG I'm obsessed! I love everything they make!
She texted me when she got home and everything was in tact. I'm glad she arrived early in the morning so she beat the heat on the way home.
How long would you say it took to make this cake from start to finish?
About 10 hours to decorate, plus another 6 hours to bake / fill / ice / cover with fondant (black tier).😳
@@KarolynsKakes whew, maybe you should’ve charged more! 😆 That’s a lot of freaking work and it’s adorable.
OMG!!! Wow!! This cake is amazing, and worth every dollar you charged. Man, you are such a decorator.
Awwww thank you love! 💜
AMAZING work ❤
Maria! Thanks girl! 💜
I love this cake and your thought insight! I’m so grateful for you sharing your knowledge❤
Love youuu!!
I knew just from watching that this cake took forever lol
Just to decorate was about 10 hours!
I like that technique of smoothing with the paper in hand to keep it from distorting!
Yes!! It prevents the fragile pieces from breaking. 🙏
Hi Karolyn!
Love your tutorials, girl!
Thank you honey!
