Ty for the vid! Now im confident enough to build my first DIY pc! But please let someone speak over it so he can tell me how easy it is to boost my confidence.
I fitted one of these a few weeks ago on a Asus H110M-R micro ATX board with an i7 7700 that was still in the machine, so space was not a premium. Have to say that fitting it with the motherboard in situ is not quite so easy. First of all the back plate, lining up the screws and the spacers they screw into is fiddly, but not the worst part of the process. What I did find awkward was putting the actual cooler onto the brackets as for some reason it does not sit as flush and there is a gap between the bracket and the cooler bar. You really do have to put the tiniest amount of turns onto the first screw if you have any chance of getting he second screw to tap. Finally attaching the fan. It is easy enough on the side facing down as it is almost entirely clear space, but the one that is closest to the top of the case has minimal room to move unless you have tiny hands. Just be aware that if you are doing like I did and just upgrading from an existing cooler, either be prepared to totally strip the PC or just be aware of lack of space when fitting while the motherboard is still attached to the case. I did love the fact it came with thermal paste applied and am totally happy with the performance, especially compared to the horrible stock intel cooler that had been on it before.
It's sad to hear that Be Quiet has not improved their design. I had the same problem with the bar and the screws being a bit too short to catch while installing it as an upgrade when the motherboard was already in the case. If only they added a few notches to fixate the bar across and if only the screws were just a bit longer...
@@camelCased Yeah, what causes the issue is the gap between the bar and the mounting point. I am well versed in attaching things with multiple screws, whether it be PC related, vehicle related or general DIY, and you know to only lightly screw in the first screw just as a placeholder of sorts, and never fully screw in, but on this the screw has to be barely in the hole for the opposite side to even gain a purchase. Once both are in, its all fine, but I think its short screws like this that lead people to fasten the cooler down too tight and press too hard on the CPU. The screws literally only need to be 1mm or so longer

Is the ARGB connector the same length as the one with light wings fans? I’m asking because I want to connect the 3pin to the hub that came with the 3 pack that I already have on the back of my case.
2:42 why is the demonstrator plugging not just *one* but *two* cables? What's the second cable? I have only one cable. EDIT: is that what the message "only for pure rock 2 FX" is there to clarify? Seriously, this message looks too fancy, it doesn't look like an assembly tip but more like an ad for the family of products, inserted there to conclude the video.
@@bequietofficial If an extra silent wings fan is added, can the airflow be reversed? Otherwise the two fans will be blowing directly at each other. Do they not need to be one pull and one push on the heatsink? Can silent wings fan be fitted in both directions? Thanks
Can I connect the RGB pin to the BeQuiet RGB hub that I have from the 3 pack? I mean is the cable long enough to go to the back side while having the 4 pin (power) connected to the motherboard next to the cooler?
When installing the screws at 1:58, should they be completely tightened (ie. until they can't be turned anymore) or only partially tight? I ask because I think I broke a motherboard by installing this cooler and overtightening those screws. Everything worked before installing, computer long-beeps 3 times afterwards.

Basically, if your motherboard does not have a 5V ARGB header (3 pin) on your motherboard, you cannot use the fan lighting. However, there are so-called ARGB converters that convert the 12V RGB signal from the mainboard into a 5V ARGB signal. This means you could also operate 5V ARGB hardware with a 4-pin RGB connection. However, this is only possible if you have a 4-pin RGB connection installed on your mainboard. However, as a manufacturer we do not offer these converters. Just look on the internet and search for “ARGB Converter”. You will then find what you are looking for from other manufacturers.
