Thanks for taking the time to put a video together on the ponds and waterfalls! It really helps show what all the pumps from the last video do. Very cool!
Aerators will kill trout in most areas where trout should thrive because they mix the cool water on the bottom with the hot water on top. This one likely tolerated it because it is likely in a location with quite cool summers.
What a waste of the trout that went belly up! Take some of the bigger fish for the table and stock a few smaller ones to grow on for the years to come! Enjoy them growing until you have a dinner party that needs a big trout!
He's got money but no fish sense. You can't imbed hooks int "pet" fish jaws and throats and expect them to go on like nothing happened. The trauma alone can kill older fish. Add,infections, broken jaw cartilage or even bones..yikes. Very bad.
I was born and raised on a ranch with multiple stocked ponds, had a trout pond right outside the door, caught and released thousands over the many years, virtually none died from the "trauma". FYI I have a biology degree now, if catch and release did not work why do you think government biologists would encourage it? Good grief. Your an maroon as Bugs used to say.
@@deanfirnatine7814 You better hit the books Dean..since catch and release has a terrible record. Large fish can't handle a hook in their throats then thrashed by rocks and branches while being reeled in. Scientists who still rely on hook caught fish for tracking are in the dark ages. Those Trout didnt "age out" in 5 or size years. That was bs. They died from something that wasnt old age. Funny if so many died at the same time and all you came up with was "old age"?. stay away from my fish.
Stan TheObserver what books are you reading? I’m an Environmental Science Major with focus on Marine biology. Seems like a very safe practice exhibited in this video. Execution seems spot on and natural replication seems as good as it can get within a residential community. As far as catch and release, I don’t see the issue. As long as you wet your hands before you pick a fish up and remove barbs while avoiding throat hooking, I see minimal harm.
Stan TheObserver infections ? Broken jaw ? Is he using a huge hook with a barb and a fast action extra heavy bass rod to slam the hooks home ? You really don’t know what you are talking about. You saying he killed his fish because they were too old and got traumatized from him fishing for them?
Could you create a artificial creek suitable for spawning so you do not have to keep restocking?
Seriously this property must be amazing based on the 220ft pond!

As if I didn't already hold you in high enough esteem. Wow, that's quite an accomplishment. 15 lb trout.
Your a man of many many skills! Thanks for sharing your projects with me.
Amazing pond Ron. Would like to see more videos of the property as it looks amazing
I was hoping you would show the pond. Awesome!
I was hoping for an underwater video when you said 'we will dive in and take a look'
I was going to comment this exactly.
You should make the stream a little more water so the trout can naturally run up to the higher streams and ponds to spawn
Stocked fish usually don't spawn
Anders Brook if there fully mature and there’s a stream near by they will it’s an instinct basically I see it all the time in a pond near my house
Triploids and diploids in England!
@@laayzurr1714 I heard they sell sterile females but not sure :( if so it’s sad and evil
Excellent video! Thank you. I liked and subscribed.
Damn that is nice property! I'd grow a lot of weed out there
Wait a second... I thought we were gonna dive in there and take a look, Literally
Jim Wolabaugh me too
Gorgeous
What a project
Campbell Lake, Fidalgo Island WA
Awesome looking pond.
Cool yard
How much does something like this cost to maintain and utility bills? I’m looking to do something like this on an acre I have leftover
Awesome!
I wonder if it's possible to keep trout in Florida? Probably have to go 15 ft right???? BEAUTIFUL pond and property, great job!!!!!
15.3’
Water table in Florida around 5ft. At 15ft you'll create a spring, keeping the water cool would be your biggest problem.
are there actual trout fish in the pond for eating?
Gorgeous! What part of the country is that?
What do the trout eat???
Bugs in the water and flies on the top.

What State? Why won't the trout breed and repopulate?
This is Fidalgo Island WA
This is the stuff off dreams
🥰🥰🥰
Thats my dream!
Would u eat a trout that died of old age?
I don’t eat any farmed seafood and no they are not edible.😎🤙
Jesus who did the trees in the background 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
By kamloops?
what would it take for them to be self reproducing?

I don't like farmed fish even if I am the farmer.
@@TheSmartWoodshop gotta eat em wild so theirs a little less for everyone else! C&R
@@TheSmartWoodshop Then you're just wasting them!! When your next fish reach that age host a party and catch and cook them all.
@@happygnomev2576 all of them? Shouldn’t at least some be allowed to live?
@@user-pe2yx9kt4e No, if you actually watched the video you'd know why.
