Hey Bre. Firstly YES PLEASE we want a succession video and second have you ever considered the Seedtime app?
Yes! I haven't played around with seedtime but from what Ive seen it would be super handy for a beginner! I just already had a lot of these systems in place and never found a need to use it. Maybe ill give it a go, so I can better advice others!
@itsbreellis thank you❤
@@itsbreellis*advise" others
@@itsbreellis agree. Tried to use the seedtime app as a beginner as it is not helpful. Also, unless you want to pay for the app you only get so much and then you are stuck. Love your videos!
@@kimwells8395 honestly sometimes paper, pen and a spreadsheet are the easiest way to go. I'm trying to be kinder to future me by keeping a binder of success and failures in the garden. 😊
Yes please, for the succession video! I'm so curious about it and you explain things so well.
This came at the perfect timing now that Christmas is over I’m obsessed with my garden for 2025!
My husband and I just bought our first home and we have .75 acres to grow our garden on! We are going to be building our raised beds in the next couple of weeks, we already have our compost pile going and about three-million leaves thanks to our mature trees! Lots of stuff to do but we are so excited! I’ve been following you for a while and your content is extra helpful because we are just below you (zone 7b) in Oklahoma!
Congratulations no the new place!!! & Thanks for watching!! Hope you have a great 2025 year!
Can you do a video on succession planting? And also do you have any videos on refreshing beds after a season?
I would love to see a video of succession sowing!
I live in Illinois and the weather loves to change every 10 minutes 😅 I really want to find seasonal recipes that I could make with things from my garden- without having to take a lot of bed space!
Sounds like we have very similar weather!
This was very helpful, thank you. I'd love a succession planting video!
On another note, YOUR HAIR GIRL! Beautiful
Such great info! I started Luffa this year thanks to your videos! We got 2 luffas and my kids LOVED them! So worth it.
Perfect timing..I'm already planning my garden..Got my garden sketched out and where everything is gonna go in my garden journal..I do it every year so to help me in advance..Got my seeds in a binder with sleeves so easy to see.....
Spot on info here!!! How fun! Warm weather can't get here soon enough!!! Subscribed!!! CaliKim
No it cant!! Thank you so much for watching & subscribing!!
The way you organize your seed dates on a spreadsheet and then in containers is genuis! Thank you for sharing this!
I also keep my seeds in a photo storage box. To organize my plant out, I have 2 boxes. One is for storage and the other is for grouping seeds by seed start/plant out date. From year to year, what I plant changes, so having containers separate helps me stay organized.
Succession planting with examples PLEASE!! I’m from Wisconsin with a much shorter growing season. Not much time for succession there at all, it’s usually one and done. We just moved to Kansas and although I can garden pretty well, planning successions in this long season has been so daunting.
Growing seasons being so seasonally specific has meant there’s not a lot of advice for this specific area. Lots of people on the East Coast or California, but you’re my absolute favorite in the midwest.
Last year I just gave up from Summer on and by October when there still wasn’t frost, I really knew I had wasted a lot of growing time. Don’t want to repeat that
I do this in my iPad too!!!! It gives me a great layout tool and helps me figure out each of my garden areas. And easily figure out my crop rotation.
Yes!!! Glad Im not the only one doing it!! Its really helpful to have all the old gardens lined up so you can easily see where you put everything in the past!
What app are you using please? 😊
Can you share what app you use for the garden layout?
I use notability it’s what I had from college. But if you have a tablet and a drawing device you can sketch out your garden space. That is what I do and I creat a key/legend to track what letters coordinate with what crops.
I’m planning to do the same with my Remarkable. 🤞🏻
I feel more confident in starting my own garden this year after watching your video! Thank you for the inspiration, Bre! ❤
Next week I star my outdoor covered winter stratified stuff. I use a frost cover to try and limit how much rain and snow get onto and into my pots.
I also spent almost 2 years creating a sun chart for my yard so I know each area gets how much sun from spring to autumn, dawn to dusk. I had trees fall during storms this past year so I have to remap the entire yard (again).
Amending soil, fixing fences, planning where I should put some covered raised beds and what to plant along the fences etc.....gardening never ends and I love it.
Edit: At this rate, in three seasons your yard is going to be all cattle panels :P
Thanks so much for your video - I’m a fairly new gardener and your video answered most of the issues I have a problem getting my mind around - would love a succession planting video!!
thank you so much for this !!!
will love love a video on succession planting ~ that sounds incredible + thank you so much for sharing your knowledge + wisdom + stories + process + warmth w us !
Thanks Bre! I'm a fellow Kansas gardener and definitely looking forward to 2025! Your story about the first year you gardened and lost everything in the hail storm always gets me, because the same thing happened to us in that darn storm that year! It laid over all my onions and I was new enough that I thought they would straighten up, whoops. 🙃 Love your garden, keep it up!! I've been inspired by you and your garden since 5,000-ish subs! 🥰 (And I'm also an avid spreadsheet user, haha!)
Can't wait to see how my garden will look this year. This video was inspiring but then I look at my window and I see so much snow, its really a challange when you are new begginer and live in a place where winter is prominent. I still have my hopes up.
A succession video would be fantastic. I would also be interested in learning more about your seed organization process.
My start is buying 1000s of seeds when I don’t have enough garden to plant them in😂😂
Story of my life lol
Same 🫣🫣
They are so cool though 🤣🥰
Yes for the succession planting video!!
As an Australian, we don't have frosts. So I would say that is good.
Please make a video for succession planting!! I promise I'll take notes and follow along!! Even though we are not in the same zone , our dates are close enough!! 🎉
Our season and frost dates are SOOO similar to yours (we’re in NE Oklahoma about 5 minutes from the Kansas state line) your videos are the most helpful I’ve come across and this was great to watch going into our 2nd gardening season ❤️❤️❤️
Glad to hear it's helpful! Hope you have a great second year!
@ I hope your onions do better this year!! Sending all the onion luck 😂
Yes to succession planting video! Give us all the basics please 😂
Such a good video,❤ I started with plant starts from rual king and lowes three years ago, and now I exclusively buy my seeds from MIGardener and self save. looking forward to our upcoming gardens for 2025🎉
Oh yesss on secession video!
yes, more on Succession Gardening would be super helpful
You are my favorite RUclipsr ❤
I actually watched a video of a woman in Canada grow luffa and she kinda did what you did when you started it inside. Once she had a few she let those go and then she pinches off the babies and allow the plant to focus its energy on the ones already there. She was able to get a few. I live in Ohio, and I have even seen some grow it here. I guess it all depends on how you start it and maintain it.
OKAY EDITING 🎉😂
You are very organized and detailed type person. I’m envious! Love your videos and garden. Happy New Year! ❤
I try to be! I defiantly doesnt come naturally to me lol
@@itsbreellis"definitely"
This was a great video!! I’m trying to pick up tips and tricks to be more efficient and this was great! If you want to get away from using the painters tape, you can write in the boxes directly with sharpie, and rubbing alcohol will remove it if you need to erase it and write something different!!
I use this method in my photo boxes but learned it on white boards for writing in things like dates on a calendar so I can erase dry erase notes without erasing the things I need to stay!!!
I can’t wait to watch this after dinner tonight!
Yes i would ❤ a succession video
Great ideas and information. You are really good at making videos 😀
Love to keep these Vlogs to learning helping .
Bre, would you share your spreadsheets and other computer info? I am not good at that at all. I do have an iPad and procreate program to use for drawing the garden space. Ty
Yes plz. I'd like to get my garden off paper and put it on my ipad. Would enjoy a video of what you use for the drawings and for the spreadsheets
Nice sharing friend 🎉🎉
I would add to this list, would be planning irrigation and infrastructure, i.e., trellis, cattle panel and any builds.
when will you do your first fertilizing of your garlic? love your videos you inspire me to get out side. thank you.
Yes please talk about sucession crops
You have me so inspired to start onions for the first time! I’ll have to rewatch your videos about starting those. I’m in 6b KS, quite similar to your area so your tips have been very helpful.
If I start a channel, I’m shouting you out haha.
Yes to succession videos plz!
That was very thorough - thank you Bre. Food for thought 🙂
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Yes succession video please!

Great video. Michaels has that photo album seed organizer on sale for $12 right now so I just ordered one and I sub'd! I definitely want all the succession tips too
Hello, happy new year, can you make a video about what you can start from seed in January?❤
I really like your Video because it is detailed and informative. And the Idea with the boxes is a real winner. What i still wonder, is, how to calculate how many seedlings I have to grow?
Hola Bre! Me encantan tus videos y experiencias tanto en tu huerta como cocina. No sé inglés y sería genial que tuvieras subtítulos en español. Estoy segura que tendrías más público siguiéndote porque tu material es maravilloso. Abrazo
Yes to secession sowing.
I would love to see a succession growing video!
Love this video! Also, your hair looks so luscious and healthy!! How???
What programs are you using to make your spreadsheet (wpuld love a detailed video if excel ) also what app do you use to make your garden plot design. I have a fire tablet and trying to figure it out 😊
Hi Bre, new subscriber! Enjoyed your video 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
New sub! Very valuable info!❤
Im so inspired! Thank you!! 🙏🏻 🥬?maybe a silly question - What app are you using on your iPad? That has layers?
Succession planting is so confusing to me. Maybe I’m just making it harder than it is. But that would be helpful if you would explain how that works. Thanks so much for all your time.
I'm already overwhelmed and I haven't event started. For some reason I have this idea that February 3rd is too late to start planting 😅😭
Thank you!
Very informative! Looking forward to 2025!
Thanks for watching! Hope it's helpful for your garden planning!
We do not want the succession video, we NEED it🖤
I love that jumper. Is it real wool? Love it. Also thanks for this video.
Kind of an off-the-wall question here but what brand are the overalls that you wear?😊
Hello bre,I'm from South Africa. I watched almost all your videos. Love them.i started gardening too.but a small area. I was wondering how you water your plants because I don't seen any irrigation.do you water by hand?please explain ❤
I love all your videos! May I ask where you purchased your beautiful brown sweater or did you make it?? It’s so pretty!❤
I love all your overalls in these videos! Where did you get them?
Did I miss you say what program that was that you were using to grid your garden? I am not an iPad user but have an iPhone so I am curious. I love a good visual!
What are the metal beds you are using / where do you order from? 😊
Would love to be able to have a copy of your planting spreadsheet ... is it excel or?? I want to sort my seeds as well with planting dates. Thanks Bri
really nice 🤩 I balcony garden as well in. my channel and yours is a lot of inspiration 🤩
Hi Bre. Where did you get the white cover for for seed rack? It looks great and does it really help your seeds?
How long before the last frost do you start seeds?
You mentioned having strawberries inside, did you start them from seed? If so I’d love to hear more about that!
Theres were plants I had in the garden that I removed from a bed to plant garlic. I was needing to do some shuffling and had no idea where I wanted these planted in 2025 so I potted in up in homes I can transplant them to a different area in the spring once I had more of a plan established. I bought bare root plants when I first started growing strawberries and enjoyed going that route! I personally never started any from seed.
@ oh I see thanks for the explanation!
What type of tablet and program are you using?
She said it's a iPad but idk what app it is
Yes i would like a succesion video
I don’t know if if gets cold enough or if that maple is a sugar maple, but have you tried tapping that maple tree?
sorry if I missed this - what is the program where you drew out your garden? Is that just Adobe illustrator?
Do you rotate your crops?
Is there a particular app you were using on your iPad for the layout planning? It looked like it had layers functionality which is super cool!
I need to get better at succession sowing this year. I just run out of space and when things got overcrowded some plants didn't grow. Do u fully pull out plants early to start other or what?
How are your bed oriented? North to south, or east to west?
What app are you using on your iPad for garden planning?
Do you mind sharing what app you’re using to draw within?
What mic are you using? Sounds good
What are you mulching with? I got straw with seeds in it one year. 😅 took me FOREVER to pluck all of that out.
What app are you using for your garden layout plan?
Hi Bre. Just wondered what program you used on your iPad?
Where do you purchase your inca tomatoes? I'm interested in trying them after your sucess with them in your 2024 garden.
What app is that on the iPad ?
Can you sghare 6our spreadsheets please
ROW ONE of my 2025 Temperature Blanket DONE!! 🎉
