I guess this shows why camponotus singularis produce majors in the colony's early stage, they seem to serve as the queen's royal guards and none of the other workers made it, so they were probably the only reason the queen was still alive
It’s a shame about the vivarium! You would’ve definitely seen action if you’d have kept feeding the setup like it was still alive. But closer to the nesting area! Great to see the queen is laying again man! ❤️❤️
Yeah I definitely miss having one again. I have made a tiny one but definitely wanting something again. Just don’t have the ants for it at the moment 😕
Hi ant holleufer I don't know of you will remember or not but u commented on my very first video and that brought me so much joy because if you didn't do that I would have never found your amazing channel but sadly on the video that you commented on the comments got turned of for some reason
Oh glad I’ve been around commenting! I’d you put the videos as child friendly comments will be turned off. So if you want comments you need to say “not suitable for children” when you upload the video ☺️
If you provide a queen with food in front of their doorstep they take it. My Fedtschenkoi and Turkestanus are also asian and not afraid to 'go out of the tube' and attack whatever is around. Be it a dead bug or even the tweezers - they will tear it to shares and take the winnings
Hi umm just a quick question hear on average for u how long does it take for a camponotus nicobrensis worker to go from egg to adult ant for me it took 1 month and 13 days for my first worker to hatch
I had a colony of singularis that died, before they died their only minor died and the queen is left with 2 majors. Then the eggs started to appear like the eggs that yours looked like and then they died one by one. It’s sad looking at the colony like this but yea. Mine didn’t make it like this so I’m not sure if yours would.
In my opinion, a colony of that size should've never been moved into a setup that large in the first place. Small colonies are in a very precarious position and need attentive care which wasn't provided due to the setup
Very true can’t lie. I’m not the biggest fan of those setups either. But I was recommended to put in in such and that’s the reason I did it. But yeah. I’m must more into being able to monitor the brood
@@AntHolleufer thanks;) I already posted this but I see it has been removed. But mierenspecialist (Dutch site) sells Singularis pupae. Maybe it might help you saving your colony😁
the things that ants lou said aren't 100 % true, in camponotus the mejor workers aren't soldiers, they usually have the role of protecting the nest but if they are only two the will do all the jobs of the colony. In the gene camponotus there isn't a real distinction between the mejor and the minor workers, the mejors more then a soldier are more growed workers.
Im dont have ants yet. But i have seen some of your tiktoks and videos. Its sad to see one of my favorite spices get butcherd like this. Hope they can recover. I have read some of the comments. If food comes close enorth will the queen then eat it. I mean if the majors dont feed them cant you then not just feed her in the testtube instead of the venus nest outworld. I know it will not be so clean but again its just until she get workers again. Just an idea dont know if queens stops find food when they get there first set of workers
Thanks for the inputs ❤️glad you like the content. I have seen the workers feed the queen so food is being spread around the colony. Now it’s just about getting the brood to grow bigger. That’s the new big challenge 🤔
@@AntHolleufer yeah fair enough. I suppose this way, you can even hand feed the queen protein and sugar if needs be. I've done it loads of times. Super cute!
I’m happy to see that the colony has survived the huge attack during the messor Barbarus escape !
Thanks for the spoiler kinda ruined it for me but don’t feel bad

Yeah it’s very fascinating that they where the only survivors! Definitely not a bad point. Hadn’t thought of that 🤔
i got my fingers crossed for you bro!

I haven’t dumbed the setup. It’s just in a old tank so I can still keep it going for a future nest

Thank you! Yeah it’s sadly a big loss for them but I hope they can recover😔
@@AntHolleufer Sorry for the bad times, im sure they will recover. How long does your 10% discount at Wakooshi last for?

Do not use vivarium on certain ants . Also give more protein.

If the queen is in the tank, why move the colony?
Because I don’t trust them to go out and eat. So I wanted to be able to monitor them better ☺️
