this is so cool oh my god?????? your expressions, your movements, your playing, the editing, the sound quality, it’s all FLAWLESS !! i’m a drummer hopefully learning to play this song, and this helps so much, and it’s just so fun to watch you!!
I have listened to this so many times, and will continue to do so, as I try to perfect my own performance. My drum tutor is trying to teach me me a slightly different approach, but I think yours is perfect! Thanks so much, Angela!
I’m a new drummer and im so glad i found you!! I started learning this song about six months ago and its so fun to play! I’m still pretty new to it, so the way im learning it is pretty simplified, but i’m hoping i can one day make a cover this cool!!
I've just added this to my indie playlist after too long. I am a vocalist/rhythm guitarist but love playing drums. When I listen to this now, the thing that stands out for me is the kick. By the way, I love how you get into this song - a combination of concentration and sheer enjoyment. Subscribed
How can I give more than ONE like? I pledge 10, and more to come as I get my head around this cool set. I only wish I could see what you’re doing with the kick pedal.
If this makes sense, the first snare hit comes in just before the down beat. So if we count in 4 (1 e and a, 2 e and a, 3 e and a, 4 e and a), the snare comes in on the “a” of 4, and also hits two more times (on 2 and 4). The kick drum kicks six times (on 1 e _ a _ _ _ a 3 _ and _ _ _ _). I think the HHs are 8th notes played wide open, but they’re emphasizing the quarters (XxXxXxXx).
@@angelalese Thanks Angela but it's where to start counting that is my issue. I can see that you count yourself in by foot tapping the HH after the rim and cymbal stand pattern but I just can't seem to wrap my brain around it.
@@yancowles So the bass comes in on the “and” of 4 and repeats: and 1 e a 2. (Rest on 3 and 4) and 1 e a 2. (Rest on 3 and 4, but the drums, namely that snare hit, comes in on the “a” of 4). So both the bass and snare come in before the down beat of the measure.
For the life of me I cant get that main groove. Is the first part a quick triplet hh/sn/bassdrum? or ??? Looks damn effortless when you play it .. great work
It’s a snare hit on the “a” of 4 right before the down beat (“4 e and a”)...and then the kick hits on “1 e” and “a 3 and” w/ 8th HH hits and snare on 2 and 4. I hope that helps explain it, took me a while to get it! Haha
Getting fancy with the edits, nice!
Well done as always.
Cool editing too.
just found this thirty seconds ago. fantastic stuff, greetings from a fan in ireland angela
Thank you very much!
Great job and nice video editing skills as well!

My kick foot is playing “1…a…a3 and…” most of the time if that makes sense haha. :)
Still rocks,I swear!
Thanx from Ukraine🇺🇦👍
Agh, how do you work out the count in to start at the right time?
The weirdness of that bass riff completely throws me off!
