  • Yes, the vid is slightly out of sync at the very start, it catches up though. (OH the wonders of the 18 bazillion different settings in virtual dub!)
Yes, I realize the drum fill is backwards.
After breaking 2 sticks, and for some unknown reason (probably my brain short circuiting from the heat)
continually catching my stick on the tom rim when beginning that fill, (and watching it fly off into space
over and over) I was a bit frustrated so I changed it up a bit. (in fact, you can see I make a conscious effort to move my stick back a few inches on the ride when I first start hitting it right before that fill, so as not to catch it again.)

After hours of trial and error, the only audio I was able to capture was like fingernails on a chalkboard. (Microsoft Lifecam Audio, not so great and the software "eyeline" I had chosen to use after the original vid, apparently doesn't support audio at all - back to the drawing board.)
After so many takes, and with it being 95+ degrees in there, I'll settle for this vid, and learning more about what to do and what not to do with the cams, mic's and software.

Excellent! I'm learning it now. Decided to learn a few Rush tunes to precision. The final fill in this one is getting me, but I'll get it. Great job!

Man, I understand your need to play more technically challenging music and your appreciation of Rush in that respect! I love all that is Rush and as a guitarist, Alex Lifeson is a hero. As a musician, they are all virtuosos and masters of their instruments. Keep up the great work!
