Paraphrasing Miles Davis:: "They sure can play their asses off" -mentioned a few times in his autobiography when he praised a musician's performance. In this performance the enormous energy from the band is fed back by the audience and the whole thing is about to blast off. UM is such a great band!
Yeah, this song is EPIC. Symphonic power metal. I eat that sh*t for breakfast. When you hear Fuki, you KNOW it's Fuki! Every killer metal song must have solos. UM delivers! 🤘🏻🥳🤘🏻
Fantastic song from an incredible band. It's always nice to hear Jinya play and for Jill and Shiren to join in, plus Fuki is one of the best in the business. In other Japanese music news, Wagakki Band's Yuko, the singer, and Kiyoshi, the koto player, are expecting their first child!
Definitely a fantastic song and performance! Let me know your thoughts. Don't forget to Like and Subscribe! Check out the NEW Amazon links in the description!
This is one of their Touhou covers as far as I know. They originally started out as a Touhou cover band/Doujin band (with only Shiren and Fuki) and only started doing originals way later. You can look up Touhou Project on wikipedia. I am not super well versed in it myself to be able to give a proper explanation, but it is a set of video games and other media where doujin artists (basically independent artists) can make artwork or cover music from (from what I understand). I have had only the little info from my sister, who knows at least a bit more about it than I do, and some quick searching the internet to go on. The whole Touhou universe is actually way too dense for me to try and get into (+ I suck at shmups). I really like this one as well though even though I generally am not the biggest melodic power metal fan. But the musicianship and especially Jill's violin is just too good. The next track on that blu-ray is a "Drums & Bass Solo", not necessarily a song.
Great info and thanks for sharing. This is one of the most popular songs Touho music covered, arranged by musicians. I would say this is the "national anthem" for Tohou cover bands. UM started out as Tohou cover bands which Fuki and Siren (lead guitarist with guitar with no head piece). The costume the band wears in this video are all Tohou characters costume. Other music videos with similar costume are all Tohou covers.
Great reaction. What I always think about when I hear your comments is that "We Japanese have similar sensibilities, such as the parts we pay attention to and the parts we feel." You're always noticing small changes and small moments that other reactors don't notice. The Japanese see even the slightest and smallest things as having a big meaning. For example, in UM's "Tower of blood", Fuki makes a voice like a different person at a certain moment, which expresses that she is singing from "another person's point of view".
Thanks so much for your words! They are greatly appreciated! Tower of Blood is definitely one I want to react to. Every time I've gone to do it, it shows up blocked or deleted. LOL Stay tuned!
Love Fuki's voice man, love Fumiya on drums, He is one of the best japanese drummer, love Ogawa(ba), love Jill on violin and Jinya and Shiren are one of the best dual lead guitar as Miyako and Midori. IMP they are very underrated guitarists. Very sad
I'm no expert on UM, but of what I've heard this is my favourite from them - all the different parts make for a beautiful composition and the performance is exceptional. Love that you went back for the whole of solos even though not really solos 😁
This is a take on a tune from the Touhou video game series. They do this quite often, since they're huge fans. Fuki's stage outfit also is often inspired by Touhou characters. Two other Touhou songs I know of of are 奇子~ Unknown Child: ruclips.net/video/VUV-K_hg7Zg/видео.html And The Tower of the Blood, which has been taken off RUclips, since it was not an official upload. There still is a drum cam video, but it also is a drum mic video, so you can barely hear the the song over the drums: ruclips.net/video/jw4rVTCy-hw/видео.html There's probably more, but these are the three I recognized when playing some of the games. The next "song" would have been the bass solo on the Blu-Ray. If you have any chance of getting your hands on the Blu-Rays and DVDs, they're absolutely worth it. Probably the most played concert Blu-Rays I own. I have four of them and already can't wait for the net one that will be recorded on the current tour.

I agree completey!

Absolutely!
One of my favorite UM songs! And I was lucky to see it LIVE at their Singing to the sky concert last month!
Very cool!

Congrats to them!
Imagine being in this small venue and in front of you all the forces of nature are unleashed in the form of 6 musicians...that's Unlucky Morpheus.
That'd be insane!
Yep, one of my favorite UM songs, they are truly amazing musicians 🔥!!
Yes they absolutely are!
It may seem that Fumiya is a beast, but the real beast is Jill 😁 She just kills without straining, walking through the park among the flowers
She's friggin amazing!

Great suggestion and reaction!Ankimo all the way! 🤘
Thanks!
Great reaction! All of them are crazy good musicians! Please check out《phantom blood》live next time!🤘🏻🔥
Definitely on my list! Thanks!
Fuki is adorable I like her, I don't know her age but heard "she is lady" from Champ.
As much as I know she is 36, but man! She is really beautiful! 🙂
She was 33 at this concert (November 2019); 36 now (she is from June 9th, 1986).
Absolutely!
this song is my *jam*...
Awesome!
First! :)
WooHoo!
