Pogo makes my all time favorite boats, the perfect blend of speed with enough comfort to get you by.
just sailed a charter on one of these with FastSailing greece, nice and easy sailing. The ride not so good upwind but on a beam reach or downwind fantastic. We had wind gusts to 50 knots with 2 reefs in the main and it only partially rounded up with plenty of warning on two occasions
+Roger Gunn Imagine it would be quite a handful upwind in waves. With so much beam forward would bounce around
It is all in the eye of the beholder. Personally I love it......
It's trailerable, and can pull transatlantics
If i would have loads of money, i wouldnt need anything more then this beauty.

Hey thanks for this vid - over the last 3 or 4 years I've watched maybe 8 to 10 times :-). I think I know why now. After sailing and having a love and also dislike of yachts since childhood, I think this is the one I am mostly likely to buy. It's a compromise but you can go places in a boat like this without feeling like you're in a floating caravan. Those comfortable things are good of course but these Pogos are still liveable while having going fast as the priority. Excuse me driver, this appears to be my stop!

I saw a video with an alternative interior layout and was blown away by the spaciousness and clean but comfortable simplicity. Now I've seen what goes on underneath I'm not too sure it would suit someone wanting to cross an ocean - the rudders look so flimsy. I don't like any kind of unprotected rudder. Two rudders equals twice as much fun for those Bay of Biscay Orcas...nom nom nom

The world renowned Glenans Sailing school had a pair made specifically for them that I sailed on. 22ft no motor little race boot, that thing got abused for years and years sailing every day all day for huge chunks of year by students. Likely has more miles on it than a 60's Pearson. Had zero issue.
Also, Pogo's bread and butter is transatlantic race boats. They know how to build sturdy boats, maybe do a little research before you make yourself sound stupid.
These are absolutely VERY sturdy boats, I say this as a lover of old boats, even worked in a wooden boatyard.

You nailed it David. Ugly above and below decks. Typical contemporary Euro-boat. I don't think I've ever seen so many horrible-looking sailboats manufactured at the same time.
+David Sharp I actually think this boat is beautiful. That is one very damn well designed ship. In term of efficiency, these lines are pretty close to perfect on a 30 ft boat. I am sure, many years ago people thought modern monohulls were ugly. Times change, boat buyers too.
It's ok, when viewed from aft the stern... which is how most people will see it...
