Adding the brokerage account is a BOSS level move. Having the brokerage along with a Roth, HSA, 401K and 529 allows maximum tax diversification in the drawdown phase.
I’m a single person, so after maxing my Roth and 457b, there’s not alot left to send to a taxable account. I am able to put about $50-$100 during most months. I say a little is better than nothing there and it’s accessible if a super emergency pops up.
