    Thank you. I’m still running my professionally calibrated 6030UB. I purchased it and installed it in 2013 I believe. I opted for the $100 more expensive model because it came with a brand new extra bulb. It’s 2024 and the brand new EPSON bulb is installed thanks to your assistance sir! Thank you!

    Thanks for this. I just replaced my lamp after 4100 hours. I bought one 1000 hours ago but I was clueless. No idea it was that simple.

      Probably going to need to buy one from a third party. It’s unfortunate but I guess we have no choice anymore.

    Hello, I need your help, I want to purchase one of these projectors, but my question is how the projector behaves when playing 4K HDR movies.
    converts them to 1080p sdr automatically on does it look bad?

    • @Upscaled_HT
      @Upscaled_HT  Год назад +1

      It will look bad unless you use a device that performs tone mapping. Apple TVs are really good at it.

    I just bought this same projector, used from Facebook. I looked at the air filter, and it is gray. Do you know if this is normal? Or is the air filter supposed to be white?
    When I look at photos online to purchase a new filter, they are all white. Mine does not look dirty at all, but I'm not sure why it's a gray color?

      It could just be discolored from use. Just make sure it’s clean put it back in.

    Is the 5030UB still worth it in 2023? Looking to get decent black levels for under 800$

      If you don’t care about HDR then it’s absolutely a great choice. Second hand prices are pretty attractive.

    lamps are discontinued? anyone has good recommendation for an aftermarket? anyone replaced with an LED bulb? Can we replace with a higher lumen?

    • @Upscaled_HT
      @Upscaled_HT  9 месяцев назад +1

      I’m pretty sure they’re discontinued, which sucks because there was something wrong with the third party one I bought from myprojectorlamps. I even tried a replacement and it was causing the strongest heat/plastic smell. The oem lamp worked fine. Epson should be ashamed that they discontinued it.

    Did you notice that your picture was a lot brighter after replacing the bulb? I have the same projector with about 3200 hours on the original bulb and I’m debating whether to replace it.

      I honestly didn’t notice much of a difference. I didn’t measure the light output so I can’t say for sure but it wasn’t the blow away. I ran my projector at eco (best contrast and blacks) for years so that may have played a part in preserving the brightness.

    How come your using a 5030, when you had a 6050?

      I do have a 6050. It’s going in the new theater. Hasn’t been installed yet.
