I'm glad your back, I just started following your channel because of the HUSH! bust. Too bad the website where the painting steps were recorded is gone... :(
Plastic minis like GW's don't usually use a mold release, which is why metal and resin figures need cleaning so I don't usually bother. If you're concerned about it, cleaning them with just soap and water certainly won't hurt them, and it'll be pretty easy if the parts are still on the sprues :)
If soap and water isn't working and if they're not painted already, you could try some sort of paint remover to clean them. From a quick Google search "lead miniature yellow tarnish" it seems that people are priming and painting over the top of it, so if it won't come off, it may be that you'll just have to ignore it and paint them anyway.
really useful video, thanks.
Do you wash miniatures made of lead metal from the 90s with soap and water?

Thanks for the tips! Does the soap and water go for plastic miniatures too?

How can I remove tarnish from necromunda minis, they are a lead pewter mix, the ones hit by the sun have turned brown yellow, it's scary
