Recorded in front of a sold-out audience in Boulder, CO, and deftly mixed by GRAMMY-winner Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris), Indigo Girls Live With The University of Colorado Symphony Orchestra showcases Indigo Girls at their finest: raw, real, and revelatory. Spanning material from throughout the band’s career, the 22-song set features a mix of reimagined classics, including fan favorites “Galileo” and “Closer to Fine”, unexpected deep cuts, and tracks from Indigo Girls’ latest studio album, One Lost Day. Recorded live with the University of Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the GRAMMY-winning duo managed to find that elusive sonic sweet spot with this project, creating a seamless blend of folk, rock, pop, and classical that elevates their songs to new emotional heights without sacrificing any of the emotional intimacy and honesty that have defined their music for decades. After more than 50 performances with symphonies across America, the experience has finally been captured in all its grandeur on the band’s stunning new album, Indigo Girls Live With The University of Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

Lyrics:
I'm tryin' to tell you somethin' 'bout my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
And the best thing you've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously
It's only life after all, yeah
Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
And lightness has a call that's hard to hear
I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety 'til I sank it
I'm crawling on your shores
And I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine
And I went to see the doctor of philosophy
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee
He never did marry or see a B-Grade movie
He graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind
Got my paper and I was free
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine, yeah
I stopped by the bar at three A.M.
To seek solace in a bottle, or possibly a friend
And I woke up with a headache like my head against a board
Twice as cloudy as I'd been the night before
And I went in seeking clarity
I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
We go to the doctor, we go to the mountains
We look to the children, we drink from the fountain
Yeah, we go to the Bible, we go through the work out
We read up on revival, we stand up for the lookout
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine, yeah - Видеоклипы
I was front row at this concert. Once in a lifetime!!!
Wow, you were so fortunate!
My 6 year old daughter and I are so jealous! I grew up listening to them with my aunt, and now I've taught my daughter to love them! So we dance around to this song a lot

It must have been like not just just hearing the music, but feeling it with your whole body ❤
I’m so jealous.
I'm 60. A few years ago, a friend turned me on to your music to help me begin to recover from a really bad abusive relationship. Thanks. I am well and happy now.

I saw them 20 years ago at Wolf Trap in Virginia. One of the best concerts I've ever attended. Everyone was on their feet most of the show.

Such incredible memories of the '90's beautiful voices and thoughtful verse, incredible singing.
Would never believe this song could/would be finer and yet... WOW!
I've never forgotten this song since it came out. So many things happening in my life at that time, so many things in my country, etc. Then, some years later, this young student shared the tape with my wife and asked her if she'd heard of Indigo Girls. She hadn't but i sure did 😉. I sang the chorus to her and then she recognized it. That must've been 10 or 15 years back. It's 2022 and i still love it.
After listening to Indigo Girls for 24 years, they still manage to inspire me to try and be the best that I can be 😍💕 xx Sounding wonderful!
This is freaking awesome 😭 I’m a mess!
Don't need to go to the doctor if you have such great lyrics
same!
The conductor did an excellent job!!!
This music is medicine!
Totally makes me cry. Such memories of this great song!
WE WERE THERE! SO EXCITED TO SAY THAT WE ARE ON YOUR ALBUM AND PLEASE COME BACK TO COLORADO SOON!!!

❤️ this performance is so Colorado.
They are still and always everything. It's as if they're growing into their own songs.
Wow that was a fantastic version!!
Exactly Exactly Exactly...adding the orchestra to this amazing amazing amazing song after all of these years just adds to its greatness as was then as is now
My son plays cello. I have to have him listen to this...
This song deserves the renewed attention it’s getting-and this version is great.
Going to see the girls live tonight. So stoked.
This is a joy to watch.

Well done! Came to youtube to find a live version of Closer to fine and found this gem. Loved it!!
I love you guys. ❤️
had no idea this symphony was at this school, they are really awesome
Still scraping together enough dimes and quarters to pay rent thanks to your ONE HIT.
Just purchased the digital download of the show.
The more I listed to this song, the closer I am to fine....
WOW what a performance - and what a song! I've loved it for nearly 30 years. How can a simple D,C&G arrangement be used to create something so amazing and emotive? Like Paul Simon said - the great songs are simple and they never age.
Fantastic!!!
The way these wonderful women make a song is so real, so amazing, so passionate, and so very real. Wish I could play some music with them for just a day.
My God what a legacy these two women have created💖
Epic thank you
Rest in power Ashley Nevins. I love you.
I have just listened to the album. Superb orchestration taking each song to new emotional heights. Feeling grateful the Indigo Girls are in the world.
I have following these girls since the very beginning and they are so great and amazing

❤❤❤❤
such an awesome show, love it
Band, orchestra, Choir !
Just downloaded the cd today,love this video aswell,Closer To Fine,its a classic,Indigo Girls I love them .
How cool is this? I had gone outside for a few minutes and this had popped up I could hear it playing in the background. When I came into the room I was pleasantly surprised to hear and see Closer To Fine being played with a symphony orchestra. The song was about half way over I listened to about 40 seconds of it then started it over and then I started it over again and then again. 300 years from now will these be viewed as the classics like Bach and Mozart are today.
Personally I find the Indigo Girls, along with a few others, to be far superior to the old masters.
Someone was lamenting the poor quality of music in these times but great music is still being put out you just have to wade through a lot of crap to find it.
Vocês são maravilhosas... sempre foram.
Falo em minha língua nativa para que saibam que os brasileiros adoram suas músicas.
your so good
Just stunning!
Time moves on...the Indigio Girls continue to create their music through their words as a poet only to deliver the songs to you. What you hear, you know and what you feel is apart of the Indigo Girls Music....yes it is a rapture to enlighten others.
OMG this is so gorgeous!
This is just a brilliant song. All the way around. We'll done

So good!!
Oooooh - soooooo great!!! 😍😍😍😍👌👏
Beautiful.
Perfection
As if that song couldn't sound any better...
So sorry that Emily is losing her voice . Have loved them forever,
I have tickets to see them summer 2022 with an orchestra. I do fear Emily is losing her voice, the last few concerts I’ve seen made me think that. That’s so terrible but honestly I still have all the love and it won’t stop me
@@meganlongo7525 Have a great time!
From Tucker near them, college wouldnt be that same without them
😘😘😘
It was a great little song that meant so much - ruined by turning it into an anthem .
White people can do soul music.
man the orchestra dragging
I guess I'm in the minority. I think this song works best through minimalism. Two guitars and a third stringed instrument. To me the orchestra removes the purity and overcomes the lyrics.
The orchestra ruined the song by playing over the chorus.
You're entitled to your opinion, but that's all it is. I enjoyed it. The original is always there if you want to hear it. This is another take, and many people, myself included, really enjoyed it.
What? It was fabulous. Look at the joy on Amy's face when the full orchestra kicked in. That's got to be exhilarating.
