I feel so happy for Ferrari. It's like reviving. I hope they can compete with Mercedes and Redbull this season
need to see williams up there with them then it will be another golden era of f1 **edit yes I know this is just testing but early testing is showing some promise can't wait till Bahrain next month!
Norris did his fastest lap on C4. Leclerc on C3 And Norris was just 1 tenth of a second faster on Leclerc. I want to see a fast time from Leclerc on C4.
I'm wondering if they should bring back active ride height to counter how close the car is to the floor at speed. It was bad before, as only a few teams had it here and there, but if all the teams have it now, it could be useful and make the cars even more able to race closely in the slip of another car too
What ive noticed is red bull and merc dont car about setting the fastesr time they know their cars are fast af, i think they're both sandbagging just as daniel said
Banning tyre blankets altogether could be an interesting alternative for the future, and one that makes environmental sense. I would like to know how many kilowatts, just the blankets alone, consume per race weekend; I am guessing it must be a lot. Regardless, if tyres had to be kept at room temperature, and each driver warm them up on the track, this would change things significantly, and add a lot of excitement to races.
Well before this season we were thinking it was going to be red bull vs Mercedes’ again But Ferrari and mclaren are showing they have the potential so far to go for title

So the lap record on Barcelona in 2021 was Max's 1:18.149, and now its 1and a half seconds slower. So I hope they can get their aero sorted to make these the fastest ever!
That's one of the intentions with the new regulations and rules, to actually slow the cars down. I think the main challenge F1 teams are encountering in terms of porpoising, is that while the classic front and rear wing produce downforce solely through the pressure of air hitting an inclined plan, ground effect depends on other parameters. It's like a giant wing, that extends to the complete length of the car, and its aero abilities depend on its form. The problem is that as soon as the car's nose or rear lifts a bit higher (or lower) than usual, the air flowing in won't take the same path, resulting in imbalanced downforce between the car's extremities, resulting in even more imbalance and so on. So it's not a self neutralising phenomenon, and while suspensions can limit its amplitude, it is urgent that teams figure out a way past this, because at this speed, 95% of a car's breaking ability depend on downforce
They solved the problem before by stiffening suspensions...but then again it came to a point where the suspensions became ridiculously stiff. Active suspensions might have been a neat solution but they are banned. Indy cars use ground effects for added stability when going around ovals. But they have very low aero components to reduce drag and maximise top speeds in ovals, which is why porpoising is never an issue in Indy cars.
Zhou Guanyu is correct though. In China, Korea and Japan the family name traditionally comes first (However after industrialization Japan adopted the western style of putting the family name last). “Gyuanyu Zhou” is just the western style, but still you never hear westerners refer to China’s president “Jinping Xi”.
Big change this year, should be interesting. Watching those cars bounce on the straights like that remind me of when rear dampers are blown out on vehicle, and you can literally watch them bounce along the road for miles at a time 😂😂

I cant wait for this to start of course it nice to see mclaren and ferrari back on top but we have to remeber these dont really show who is the fastest car
