Now in case if the earphone in your android device is not working for phone calls but if it works for other applications such as RUclips videos or audios then let us see how to fix the issue. The first thing we will do is we will go to "Settings". Go to "Apps". Now scroll down and we will open phone application. Then we will go to "storage". Clear cache. Then we will select "clear data". OK. So, we have cleared the cache files and data for phone application. Now the next thing what we will do is might be there are applications in your device such as voice recording applications that uses the earphone of your microphone so due to that sometimes there might be a problem with the settings and the earphone will not work for your phone call. So, what we will do is we will go back to this Apps screen. We will tap on this three dotted icons and we will select "Reset App preferences" and then "Reset". So, what will happen is all the voice recording applications or those applications that uses the microphone of your earphone the permission will be disabled. That means only the phone application can use the microphone of your earphone. So, after doing this try to check if the earphone will work now for the phone application or not.

Thanks. It worked for me without even clearing PHONE DATA. Just cleared cashe and reset preferences. I was reluctant to clear phone data bcos I do not know what will happen as a consequence

There's something up with my phone. My earphones work in producing output but don't take any input. The problem started recently and no, it's not because of the earphones. They work on other devices and I have changed the earphones many times. It's clearly a device problem

Anyone having issues with calls. Go to settings and go to In Ear Detection. Turn it off. Calls will start to go to earbuds
