プレイヤーは剣と盾を武器に、アイテムにより長剣、爪など、3種類の武器を使い分けることが出来る。「ラスタンサーガ」の続編だが、前作よりさらに前という舞台設定のためか、グラフィック、内容ともに退化している。
ストーリー:
天高くそびえる神殿"スカイスクレイパー"のある聖地"ラスタニア"。スカイスクレイパーを治める者は、台地を治めると伝えられていた。しかし、この聖地に邪悪な族が侵入し、スカイスクレイパーを我物にしようとしていた。邪悪な族から聖地を守るため、勇気ある若者が立ち上がった!!

Even if title screen says 1988, Rastan Saga II was released in March 1989 in Japan.
Rastan Saga was a good game, but this sequel was not and got very bad reputation from Japanese gamers.
This game is known outside Japan as "Nastar" and in US as "Nastar Warrior".
Pony Canyon / Scitron released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Taito DJ Station : G.S.M. Taito 5 - PCCB-00037) on August 21, 1990.
Zuntata Records released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Zuntata History L'ab-normal 1st - ZTTL-0038) on April 1, 1999.

I just never understood how it went from Rastan...a game that was by no means perfect, but captured the hearts of it's players by granting them a sense of epic scale and adventure with it's music and it's hero....to THIS. A cartoony abomination of disembodied laughing/gibberish speaking women.

Similar to the 1st Conan the Barbarian movies😉 The first one good but could be improved upon🙃 The 2nd one claimed by critics as no real story plot and more on action and imagery😛

I don't think I've ever played any of the "Rastan" games (at least, not yet). I like how you can block, attack upwards and attack downwards. I also like how you can switch between different weapons (long sword, shield & sword, claws). Good music, probably by "Zuntata." Good playthrough of a Taito classic!

Agree 100%. The graphics and music are decent, but the controls are slow and stiff. On top of that, nearing the end of the game there's an unavoidable death which is the result of a grossly bad game design.
This feels NOTHING like Rastan,sorry.

the first Rastan plays better. at least the music is great...in typical zuntata fashion.
Didn't know this one of the series and don't get it why people complain about it... Looks really cool. Maybe the claws as weapon look a bit out of place, but the rest is nice. Better graphics and much better bosses. OK, perhaps it lacks a bit that sword and sorcery atmosphere, however the whole experience seems cool.
Anyway, great gameplay.
You need to play it. The controls are stiff beyond belief and it feels like Rastan is walking in molasses.

The first game was much better.
前作よりもキャラクタが大きくなった結果、画面が狭苦しくなったのに、やることは前作ほど移動に自由度の無いアスレチックアクション。
この爽快感の無さを反省したのがウォリアーブレードなんだろうか。

I havent played the first but the gameplay looks way better due to its flow and platforming. The platforming holds part 2 back. I like it though. Music is good too.

Never understood why your first opponent is what seems to be a weird chinese hopping vampire crossed with a xenomorph. I still could not figure out what to do there as when you block, he blocks too...
the claws are best. regular sword & shield the worst.

Waaaait, you can kill the turtles??? In the genesis port they are invulnerable.
Okay I realize now, the genesis port of this is shit... there, I did the same parry maneuver with the centaur and he was still able to hit me, because he never goes back, he just straight up walks into you.
Have to block with your weapon or shield, then he backs away. Then jump slash him. Speed boots help.
I think that the first one much better...

This is just awful looking, the character looks weird, looks like his head isn't looking in the same direction his body is pointing, graphics are worse than the first game. Music is alright, but this just looks bloody awful.
This was terrible compared to the original. The music was not as good either! So sad, I had high hopes for this.
