I filmed a look with the reformulated Oceanic palette and the Flair palette yesterday and could definitely tell a difference with the mattes and shimmers. Im planning on repurchasing a bunch of the other palettes, their color stories are soooo good

I’m so glad they reformuulated bc I love their color stories so often. I have re-homed all but one of my Ace palettes and didn’t get the Oceanic palette no matter how much it called to me bx I didn’t like the formula.
Some ppl do but I found the formula inconsistent and a lot of the time certain shades would fluff away. Also layering was a problem. I’ve heard others like Angelica N who like to use use a bunch of mattes in a palette having trouble getting them to layer as well.
I was one of the few who didn't mind the old formula. The only color I had issues with was Golden Apple from the Classical Paradise palette. It just disappeared on me.
@@lolamurder1882 well your in luck bc they’ll be offloading them cheap. Also look out for them in Beauty boxes. I already saw someone’s get one in a box. This palette actually. But I think the classical paradise palette is the only one I kept bc I loved the green in it. If it’s the one I’m thinking about bc I always mix them up. Some of the shades gives me trouble but I’m such a sucker for certain shades of green I can’t get rid of green eye shadow. But I’m def going to pick up some of the palates In the new formulations as I can afford to.
I am glad they reformulated. Maybe I will repurchase later cause I really loved the color story of those smaller palettes but I struggled bad to the point I wish they would send anyone who had the old formula the new for free lol. Thank you for sharing 😊
Agreed. I had to throw it out, because the matte purples were unworkable. But I felt the same about the Violet Voss Sweet Violets, or whatever it was called, and that one was highly rated. I dunno. There are way better formulas out there, now. If BH can get it right at a price point of around $18 for 16 shades, why can't much more expensive brands? 😕
@@Acidfunkish Thank you for sharing your experience! Makes me feel less crazy that I couldn't make the palette work. I love all the purple palettes and have several from diff brands (but not the violet voss one). This one just didn't work for me. Totally agree re:BH, too! Love their shadows!
@@sandy5791 BH has added so many palettes to my collection since the Sweet Shoppe collection blew me away! Those are some of my favourite palettes EVER. I still use at least one of them, weekly, because of how much I love those mattes. 😅 The Weekend Vibes collection and the newer and reformulated travel palettes are great, too; I'm just more obsessed with the Sweet Shoppe ones (Trendy in Tokyo and Amore in Amalfi absolutely were reformulated, even though they say something like "same formula, new look?" 100%, without a doubt, so I dunno why they'd kinda lie about it). And anytime anyone's looking for eyeshadow recommendations, I end up sounding like a BH infomercial. Kaleidos probably has my favourite matte formula, just because of how easy they are, though. Impeccable blend with little effort or time, though not so punchy in pigment, to start. But very buildable, even on top of each other. But those Sweet Shoppe mattes are PUNCHY, immediately! But so nice to use, still! 😭 They remind me of the Shroud Creepy Cute mattes, which is another favourite formula... But way more product for around half the price. I dunno how they do it. I did it again. Cheesus, sorry. LMAO! Great and inexpensive eyeshadow gets me hyped. 😋

@@melissa_hilliard_ifekristii This reminded me of the Nomad Tokyo Harajuku palette... I wanted to love that palette SOOOO HARD. I love everything else about it, and still like the multichrome micro-glittery toppers (not really glitter, just bigger shimmer particles) that came in it. That was the first palette they released with true mattes, though, and they were so finely milled that anything you tried to put on top would basically refuse to stick, even the satins. Like, have you ever used a really super finely-milled pure silica setting powder, and then tried to put matte powder blush on, after? It does not want to stick. It's the same for those mattes. If you want to build anything on top of them, it's basically immediately muddy and patchy. You can't even really blend colours into each other, because only the first one will "stick." So unless you're doing like, one matte or satin in the crease, and then a topper on the lid, it won't work. And those are not the kinds of eye looks I have fun with. I want big, loud, multicolour ridiculousness, and it doesn't allow that. I've heard that their formulas have been perfected a bit, since, but I haven't really wanted to test it, since. Because I wanted to love Tokyo Harajuku. And I did love everything else about it. 😭 The packaging is so cute, I love the colour story, and those toppers are so cute. If they reformulated that palette, I would buy it TODAY. Right now. 100%. I might not even feel bad. 😅 I would just love to have a working version of it in my collection! I think that's the only other palette I'd immediately repurchase, and not even really feel bad about it. 😋 I'd love to hear of others' "If you could reformulate one palette, which would it be?" I'd love to hear Amy's and Angie Nyqvist's, too! Seems like there could be a lot of variety in that. 👍🏻
I'm glad they've reformulated! I've always been so tempted by their colour stories but I've seen so many people saying their formula wasn't great. So that's been the only thing standing in my way of seriously considering getting them.

Wow it performs so much better the comparison is almost like high end and a not as good dupe. Glad for them that they improved their formula, it makes a huge difference to whether people want to buy them.
I am beyond excited about the reformulation! I am so glad that they redid it! These color stories called to me so strongly when they were originally made but I just couldn't get myself to buy them! Now that they've reformulated and I can see the huge difference in them I'm definitely going to be grabbing at least 2 or 3 pallettes!
Yes please play with these new Ace Beauté palettes more. I’m intrigued. I enjoy my Oceanic and Vintage Dawn. No issues for me. I’ve wanted Flair and a couple of the others, so now I’m more inclined to add them to my collection.
That is a pretty significant difference! I have the paradise fallen original palette and it works well for me because I have oily lids but I know it doesn't for others

I’m impressed by how consistent the colors are between the new and old formulations. Brands reformulate shadows all the time without announcing it, but sometimes there are visible differences in how the same shade ends up looking. I’ve always loved the look of Paradise Fallen but never bought it because of the formula getting mixed reviews. I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts on it!

I, too, love the color story of the old palettes, but haven't pulled them out for a long time due to my disenchantment with the formula. So I'd love to get more of your thoughts on the formula after you've had a chance to work with the new formula more. I'd especially love to see some looks from the new versions of the Paradise Fallen and Slice of Paradise palettes.

I picked up the paradise purple and rainbow old ones when they were selling them at a deep discount. I enjoy them and don't have a problem using them. I don't plan to repurchase the new formula. I would enjoy seeing reviews of them from you.

I weirdly loved their original formula. And I've heard that the Flair vs paradise/narrower palettes mightve been different but idk. The flair is a HG for me. I am interested in possibly trying the new formula

i kind of wished for more of an improvement especially with the shine instensity of the shimmers. i still will consider getting one of their palettes one day, as of now the purple speaks most to me. thank you for the informative video!

After getting the email for that sail saying they were gonna change formulas- I immediately thought of you, and hoped you'd like it. I am so glad I can go there again because I was hooked on the color stories and almost bought several times, til i could tear myself away and remember what you had said, so been waiting for this moment, haha! Bless you and thankyou! (and happy for you too!!!). Yes please on a week of Ave Beaute, and definately use the Oceanic. That fallish looking one you swatched and compared. Was it maybe one of the later made or later ones you received>? I was trying to give myself a reason why it was more similar than the others. I could personally see big changes in all the others you swatched. If you did a week, we could see how they apply and last on the eyes since you said they swatch differently than they work on eyes. But I don't know if I need that or not. I am already wanting the new Sigma, more Sydney Grace, and the new Nomad Palette (and other ones to try as i haven't tried them either and have really wanted to). I have bought more than I need this year, but was hoping to ask for one from one of these brands for birthday or Xmas. (If I get something a little more expensive like these myself, its usually a big sale and free shipping, lol.). Bless you and thankyou!

I love the week of ace beaute idea, I'm especially interested 8n how the purple palette performs on the eye. I own all the older ones and I dont see a big enough difference to repurchase

For me it wasn't just Ace Beaute but pressed matte pigments in general I found to not be my preference in eye shadow. I wasn't super crazy about the Vivid Mattes from Coloured Raine or most of the pressed pigments in ABH palettes either. I like using multiple shadows & having a blown out, blended look. I just don't care for the texture of pressed matte pigments.
I bought the flair pallete bc battybean raves about it, but the formula did not work at all on my eyelids. I would love to see a video about the new formula!

I was hoping someone would compare the old and new formulas. Right off the bat, in the thumbnail I could see that the new formula blended better in the outer V
I loved my Oceanic palette the mattes anyway the shimmers I never used I swatched but never used them on the eyes. But I would love to get the new formula of it I have hit pan in the brighter grass green shade I haven't found a shade like it in any other palette r singles.

I really want to see that Paradise Fallen palette in action. It's such a beautiful colour story and I've been interested in it for some time. Actually the same is true for the Oceanic palette and the Classical Paradise palettes. So I'd definitely watch a week of Ace Beaute. 😊❤️

I’m impressed by how consistent the colors are between the new and old formulations. Brands reformulate shadows all the time without announcing it, but sometimes there are visible differences in how the same shade ends up looking.
I’ve always loved the look of Paradise Fallen but never bought it because of the formula getting mixed reviews. I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts on it!

Thanks so much for doing this video. Yes, please do more looks with the Ace Beaute palettes! I, too, love the color story of the old palettes, but haven't pulled them out for a long time due to my disenchantment with the formula. So I'd love to get more of your thoughts on the formula after you've had a chance to work with the new formula more. I'd especially love to see some looks from the new versions of the Paradise Fallen and Slice of Paradise palettes.

Yay to Ace Beaute week! I had the oceanic one and decluttered it coz of exactly the reasons mentioned. The mattes were thin and patchy.
Me too. I bought it as everyone raved about it but I thought it was terrible. This new reformulation looks promising tho.

I picked up the paradise purple and rainbow old ones when they were selling them at a deep discount. I enjoy them and don't have a problem using them. I don't plan to repurchase the new formula. I would enjoy seeing reviews of them from you.

I weirdly loved their original formula. And I've heard that the Flair vs paradise/narrower palettes mightve been different but idk. The flair is a HG for me. I am interested in possibly trying the new formula

After getting the email for that sail saying they were gonna change formulas- I immediately thought of you, and hoped you'd like it. I am so glad I can go there again because I was hooked on the color stories and almost bought several times, til i could tear myself away and remember what you had said, so been waiting for this moment, haha! Bless you and thankyou! (and happy for you too!!!). Yes please on a week of Ave Beaute, and definately use the Oceanic. That fallish looking one you swatched and compared. Was it maybe one of the later made or later ones you received>? I was trying to give myself a reason why it was more similar than the others. I could personally see big changes in all the others you swatched. If you did a week, we could see how they apply and last on the eyes since you said they swatch differently than they work on eyes. But I don't know if I need that or not. I am already wanting the new Sigma, more Sydney Grace, and the new Nomad Palette (and other ones to try as i haven't tried them either and have really wanted to). I have bought more than I need this year, but was hoping to ask for one from one of these brands for birthday or Xmas. (If I get something a little more expensive like these myself, its usually a big sale and free shipping, lol.). Bless you and thankyou!
The old formula looks like at the end of full day of wear. Both pretty, that’s the biggest difference I see between them.

Some shadows were a little difficult. But I pulled out all my pallets went along with you lol.
I’ve never tried anything from them but love the look of the Flare palette & the Classic Paradise palette. I’d like to see looks with all the new palettes 😁💜 Why is it I like some colours better in the old & some in the new?? I’ve yet to find my ‘perfect palette’ to quite my Makeup Monster 😈💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I love the week of ace beaute idea, I'm especially interested 8n how the purple palette performs on the eye. I own all the older ones and I dont see a big enough difference to repurchase

For me it wasn't just Ace Beaute but pressed matte pigments in general I found to not be my preference in eye shadow. I wasn't super crazy about the Vivid Mattes from Coloured Raine or most of the pressed pigments in ABH palettes either. I like using multiple shadows & having a blown out, blended look. I just don't care for the texture of pressed matte pigments.
I bought the flair pallete bc battybean raves about it, but the formula did not work at all on my eyelids. I would love to see a video about the new formula!

Right off the bat, in the thumbnail I could see that the new formula blended better in the outer V
I loved my Oceanic palette the mattes anyway the shimmers I never used I swatched but never used them on the eyes. But I would love to get the new formula of it I have hit pan in the brighter grass green shade I haven't found a shade like it in any other palette r singles.

Hi Amy! I just FINALY got the Oceanic and Flair palettes during their recent huge sale. I dmed the owner and asked if the palettes I would receive would be the old version or the new version and she said the old version. So I am very curious about the reformulation!
So bummed lol. I've bought a few on my own and got several more through boxycharm and now I'll have to re purchase
