I’m thinking I’ve got to go back and get it! I just hope it’s there! 😅 That cake is soooo good and sooooo bad to have around. I’ve given more than half of it away and there’s still so much left!
Happy Beautiful Sunday!! First and foremost, I caught the video early today and not late in the day! Do you understand that I’m in love with you?Girlfriend Im addicted to your videos, I post a comment every week to let you know that you and Mark are just wonderful ♥️ no stalking I promise… your gonna make me travel from Statesville to Highpoint to check this place out and on to Cary to see my sister. My sister said to me, wow thanks to Jessica I can see you more😂😂😂. What beautiful places you show, keep being Great ❤❤
Hahahahha!!!! I love it so much! Seriously thank you for your support - it truly keeps me going! And when you come to visit your sister in Cary, let me know and I’ll come meet you guys out somewhere! 😆 Thanks again love, I appreciate you so!
I worked for a interior design firm in Cleveland Heights called Reflections...Every year the designers would go to High Point to purchase new items for the shop! It was always an exciting time....Many of the pieces in my home are from High Point courtesy of the treasures the designers brought back from their many adventures in High Point! One item that I wanted soooooo bad was an alter coffer that was made in Asia...needless to say, not on my salary! LOL but it was beautiful! Glad you enjoyed and I'm sure you'll return many times!
Did you really??? I didn’t know that! It is my dream to go to the Highpoint markets one day. I know a few licensed designers in the area so maybe just maybe I can get on their plus 1 list. 😆 That was my first time in Highpoint and definitely won’t be my last. There seems to be endless places to find really cool and unique pieces.
What a shopping trip! When you walked into the antique store I nearly hyperventilated. Everything you touched I wanted. What a rush. And the chocolate cake was everything I dream of in a dessert. This video was so much fun to watch.. I can't wait to watch it again.
Hahahaha!!! Same same same! I was like, how has this store been here all this time and this is my first time here? I have a feeling I’ll be back this week. Looking through the footage, I realize I need to go back and walk through it one more time - this time being a little more calm….hopefully! And that cake……oh that cake. I’m giving it one more day and then it’s gotta go. I just can’t have it sitting around much longer! 😅
You were like a kid in a candy store at that antique shop! Lol. I think that cabinet would be a great display case and it seems like you really want it sooooo hopefully it will still be there when you go back. The cake looks great, great job! And you are the real MVP for scrapping off the cake and redoing it!
Hahahaha!!!! That store truly was my version of a candy shop! If only I had endless dollars to spend and a much bigger house to place everything in! 😅 I really couldn’t believe I forgot to press record. Mark and my sister couldn’t believe that I was scraping it off, but I just knew that I had to! 😩 Luckily I made that extra icing!!
That painting……wow, I’m still thinking about it. Theres no way I could afford it, but it was something that I was drawn to immediately and has stayed with me!
@@jessicapayne I'm a retired English teacher Winston area, and I had so many talented students. You may well collaborate with a local art teacher and supply the inspiration and canvas and be stunned at the treasure they produce. Think about it:)
Oh no! Would have never guessed you had a “kerfuffle” with the cake. Good cover up. It looks great. Just discovered your channel. I live in Winston and will be visiting those beautiful shops. Thanks for taking us along.😊❤️
I love watching people shop as well - even if it’s not my style. I always try and find what I would pick if I were there!! 😅 Thanks so much for watching!!!
All of these beautiful things reminded me of Matthew 6: 19-20 not just because of what it says but also that we can not take anything with us and how someone else will enjoy them! I sure enjoyed watching your channel and love your music selection. A lot of the pottery looks as if it could have been made by our Ancestors… Shalom 😊 and your chocolate cake looks delicious 😊
Ran across your channel. Love it. I live in Fayetteville ❤ I’ve been to Raleigh numerous times. I’ll have to make a trip to this antique shop. Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing

Oh my goodness / it truly is the best cake and….definitely something I only need to have in the house once a year! My self control went out the window knowing that was sitting on the kitchen counter, lol!!

I just came across your video for the first time. I must say how very talented I think you are. I was drawn in by the antique shop. They had beautiful things. I was hoping you would come across old books and items for a desk or library. Maybe next time. I don’t get out much anymore but have always had a love for books since my days long ago as a library employee. So now I browse vicariously thru people like yourself. Your purchases were great. Hello! So happy I came across your channel. I grew up in High Point and have never been to those stores. I will definitely be making a trip over there next week. Next time you’re making a chocolate cake, replace the boiling water with hot coffee. It really brings out the chocolate flavor. I can’t wait to see more of your videos! Happy Antiquing!
This is so crazy because I like you saw someone visiting that store and immediately went to their website. The website does not do them justice. I too fell in love with them and was in awe of some of the prices too. I’m in South Carolina so I need to visit them. Thank you for another awesome video.
No the website does not do them justice - you just have to see it in person! I cannot wait to go back. I’m trying to hold off - but there’s so many other stores in that town that I must see. I love that it’s only an hour away - so worth the drive! 😆😆 Thanks so much for watching as always - enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!
Absolutely love your channel. I look forward to Sunday morning to see what you come up with. We rode up to High Point and was blown away. You have to go to Boxwood close to Golden Oldies as well at the Restore habitat. We had a ball. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much - I love hearing it!!!! It truly does help me keep going! Isn't High Point amazing? I can't believe it took me this long to go - but now, you can't keep me away. So many treasures in that little town. I absolutely will check out Boxwood and the Restore Habitat the next time I'm there - which I'm sure won't be too long, lol!!!!
My first time catching one of your videos! High Point shopping!! Awesome! I would be so overwhelmed! I’ve subscribed because I really like your mission statement and I love the type of content you’re producing!! You have a very comforting spirit!!! Glad I found your channel!! BTW, I’m in Georgia, not too far from High Point!!🥰
Awwww thank you!!!! I’m so glad you are enjoying following me around! 😅 I love that most days I’m simply talking into my camera seemingly talking to myself - but it means so much knowing that so many of you are on the side watching and enjoying the journey! Thank you thank you!
Charlotte is my favorite! Everytime I'm there I think "why did I move to Durham and not to Charlotte"? lol!!!! Hope you enjoy the shopping - how could you not?!!
Yay!!!!! I love that! Welcome to the channel, I’m so happy that you found me! 🥰 I had so much fun shopping and now I’m trying to figure out how long is long enough until I go back. I feel like I need to go a grab just a few things I left behind! And oh yes - that cake is fabulous! But I really need it to go away because it’s not good for me having that sitting around here, lol!!!
I’m not sure if it was open yet when you were there, but they have a second location that is open on weekends now called The Annex. It’s worth a look, too.
Oooooo I haven't heard of the other location but I will for sure look it up and plan to visit the next time I go back....which is going to be really, really soon! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment - I appreciate it so!
Hello Jessica, I love, love antique shopping. That last store was heaven!! I am so glad you bought the four pretty aperitif glasses. I was cheering you on! As to the cabinet....ummmm, it's nice, but I think high priced. Maybe they can do better. ? Since nothing is priced, they may expect that. The cake? oh my!! I have to bake that for sure! Thanks for a fun day! ❤
That’s what a friend said - she wondered if I could have negotiated the prices! I just took them at face value, but when I go back, I’m going to try for sure!! 🤞🏽😆 Oh my goodness that cake. It is the most delicious thing ever. I’ve given so much of it away, and there’s still so much left. It’s very dangerous having it around! So glad you enjoyed the episode today - thank you so much for commenting!!
Hi Jessica:::just found your channel and enjoyed your antique trip. Thanks for sharing and guess what I just made the same cake last week. It’s a great recipe. Definitely will subscribe
Wasn't it?!!! One day I hope to be able to go back and actually buy something from there. They had such beautiful pieces - it would be a dream to be able to buy something one day!! Thank you so much for watching.
I loved the items you purchased. And that medicine cabinet for perfumes or sunglasses, I feel you might need to go back and get....although $145 is a bit steep. You have an eye for this stuff. I would've walked in and did an about-face b/c it was almost too much stuff. Keep showing us your ways.
You would have totally walked in and then out, lol!!!! But I would have gotten you to look at a few things that would have peeked your interest. There were a couple of other cabinets there that would be perfect for showcasing your perfumes and bags. I did a Google search of the cabinet I saw and it's looking like the $150-175 price tag is what they're going for. I'm still thinking about it!
I loved all of these shops, especially the first one, even though most of its pottery looks fake old…based on its thickness and texture. All shops reminded me that not all antiques dealers know what they have, i.e. the era of things, the fair price. Etc. Know your stuff, everyone! Unless you’re just buying for love. 😃 Jessica, love your picks! But that box is definitely not a juicer. I’m guessing a decorative spice box…although it reminds me of something I won’t mention. Using it for matches ties in. 😊 If you really, really loved the cabinet, it spoke to your heart, and you can afford it…I hope you went to get it! It will give you $145 worth of pleasure! Looooove the etched cordial glasses. I admire your financial restraint. 😂 Just discovered your channel and I love it. Your vibe is great. Wish you were my neighbor. 😃
Oh my goodness - that cake was everything!!!! I am going to make it again this weekend to take to my boyfriend's family's lake house. I think theyre going to love it!!!
Im here in Danville, Va and need to take a road trip to High point . I love thrifting and antiquing. Any suggestions for the Durham area also. I really like vintage MCM and not the rustic look so much. Great video....
You absolutely should take a road trip - it will be 100% worth it. I actually plan to go back this weekend to see if I can visit a few more new stores in the area. Durham has a lot of great, or I should say had a lot of great places, but honestly, over the years things are just picked over or really overpriced. So my suggestion would be to try Greensboro as it's only 30 minutes away from Highpoint. I love the following: The Farmers Wife, Twin Brothers Antiques, Lindley Park Vintage, Design Archives, and ReAligned! Happy Hunting!!!
Just found your channel and am so glad! Looking forward to seeing more! Ps; next time- dust your pan with cocoa powder instead of flour… ((Chefs kiss)) it adds a lil extra somethin-somethin. Lol Pss; The cake looked gorgeous :)
Oooo that's a great tip - thank you!! I actually think I may make it again this weekend as Mark and I are going to his family's lake house and I think they'll love it. Also, WELCOME to the channel! I'm so happy that you found me and are enjoying the content so far. I absolutely love creating videos each week, and hearing that you guys are enjoying them just makes me the happiest. So thank you for being here!!!

Hi again I forgot I just knew you was going to get the decanter with the brass around the neck of the bottle I loved that , never seen one like those curious to know the price check it out when you go bk please !
Oh right! I forgot about that one too. See - that's why I have to go back. It's hard experiencing a shop like that for the first time, and also wanting to film it. I was trying to capture content and shop at the same time - and I ended up forgetting about several things. I also really likes those small marble bowls. Could be great to sit on nightstand for a place to put your jewelry at the end of the evening. Needless to say - I'm going back, lol!!!
It's been a bit since I visited that shop. In fact the name didn't even ring a bell until you showed a shot of the outside. My only criticism is that nothing was priced. Ive never even heard of Chelsea on Green!
Hello Jess & family so where do I begin let me start by saying I love the way you challenge yourself cooking , baking , building , traveling, ice skating after years of not being on skates ETC. that’s #1 also let me just say what a trip you had although thankfully it was an hour drive what a experience yes all three places was great I actually liked being in the third shop It was because of the furniture ❤ I honestly think you deserve the cabinet I was thinking of the same thing for the new bathroom , I’ve heard you mention your niece and nephew before if you ever got tired of it what a nice gift for your niece one day for her new home once she gets married or your nephew new bride one day just a 💡 , buy it if it’s there it’s not pressed wood or this stuff they make today think about it someone actually made that with there hands a long time ago ❤ !!! Oh yeah that cake looks delicious love the new just in time let’s call them cake plates !!
Hey love! So glad you enjoyed today’s video! That cake…….its whispering to me, and it’s gotta go! I’ve given away half of it, and the rest is sitting there, whispering for me to come cut another slice. Let’s just say that I don’t need to make that for a really long time. I’m so glad I now have an amazing recipe - but I hope to forget about it for at least several months, lol!!!! I do love that cabinet and yes, everything I have and collect will go to my niece and nephews. I pray that they will want it all one day. If not, then I’m going to have one heck of an estate sale one day, lol!!!! But first things first - I’m thinking I’ll be going back to get that cabinet this week!
Regarding the 'juicer' 😂😂 looks like something that may hold pipe tobacco or cigarettes? The lid could hold ashes. Definitely not a juicer! Your cake looks deliciously beautiful!!!
I am so confused. I know I can be very forgetful, and I tend to be a bit oblivious at times, but is this a re-upload? The description says it's from 3 months ago, but my notifications say it's from 9 hours ago. I don't mind either way. It gives me something good to watch, possibly for a 2nd time. 😅
Yay!! Welcome to the channel - I’m so happy you found me and decided to follow along. We have a good time here and I hope that you will continue to enjoy the weekly content!!! 🥰

Hi Brenda! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. However, on this channel we practice kindness and positivity. So if you feel that I talk too much, or you do not like the content that I am showing, then you have the options of not watching, not leaving a rude comment, and also to quote you - move along!
I can't wait to search those stores! I was surprised that you didn't mention Highpoint's furniture history. According to highpointnc.gov, etc. after WW2 60% of furniture made in America was made in Highpoint. I'm not from NC. My parents were from Alabama, and I can recall as a child that we would often stop there during our long drives there and back from Maryland so my mom could get her fix. LOL
Oh I know - I hate that I forgot to mention that. Next time for sure - as I will definitely be back very soon!! I really hope to go to the interior design markets they have there every year - it's been a dream of mine for such a long time now. One day I'll cross it off for sure!
The cabinet is a yes and the brass trash can is a must buy
I totally agree with you!!! 😆
OMG, I'm in heaven! I love the vintage shops, definitely going on my list! Yes go back and get that cabinet, looks really nice. Cake looks awsome!

I'm truly enjoying your time on RUclips.
Gm Jessica
I love your videos & I travel with you everywhere you go keep them coming please & thank you…💐🥰💐 have a wonderful weekend.
Awwww thank you!!!! I’m so glad you are enjoying following me around! 😅 I love that most days I’m simply talking into my camera seemingly talking to myself - but it means so much knowing that so many of you are on the side watching and enjoying the journey! Thank you thank you!
Thanks for sharing! I'm in Charlotte, so I'm only an hour away. Headed to shop! ❤
Charlotte is my favorite! Everytime I'm there I think "why did I move to Durham and not to Charlotte"? lol!!!! Hope you enjoy the shopping - how could you not?!!
Just discovered you today. THANK YOU!!! You are fabulous! Loved going shopping with you and agreed with every purchase you made. And oh that cake 🎂!
Keep antiquing because I want to tag along, and save a slice of that cake for me!
Love all of it too!
I love your content!😊
Thank youuuu!!! 🥰😘
Hi from Lumberton, North Carolina! Just found your page. Yeahhh
Pony glasses...Have not seen them for years. The trash can Idea is so inventive.
I went back to get the brass can!! 😆 I can’t wait to place it in the half bath once we’re done with renovations!!!
Hi Jessica:::just found your channel and enjoyed your antique trip. Thanks for sharing and guess what I just made the same cake last week. It’s a great recipe. Definitely will subscribe
Wow amazing ❤❤❤thank you for sharing!
That second store was amazing
That cake .. wow
I can’t wait to get there. I used to live in W-S, NC. I know that area well!
Amazing!!! You are going to love it - it’s impossible not to!!! 😆
Also that chocolate cake 😮❤❤❤
Oh my goodness - that cake was everything!!!! I am going to make it again this weekend to take to my boyfriend's family's lake house. I think theyre going to love it!!!
@@jessicapayne I printed the recipe and it’s in the one up for the near future❤️
Beautiful stuff!!! What was the price for that table(potential kitchen island)?
Mountain Pottery
Just found your channel and am so glad! Looking forward to seeing more!
Ps; next time- dust your pan with cocoa powder instead of flour… ((Chefs kiss)) it adds a lil extra somethin-somethin. Lol
Pss; The cake looked gorgeous :)
Aha, first to comment! And my favorite, antique shoppers, let me grab my coffee!
Hahaha!!! Yes you are first today!!! 😆 Enjoy!
😂😂😂first today because I partied Saturday night!!!
You popped up in my feed. My luck! I love your channel!! Subscriber for sure!!! P.s. So beautiful! Have a great day!!❤
New to your channel. Enjoying
Yay!!!! I'm so glad that you found me and that you're enjoying the channel. Welcome!!!!!! Thank you so much for being here and taking the time to comment - I really do appreciate it!
You should come to Texas and visit round top you would love it . I will be sure to visit high point .
So much African influence!
I sure wish, I live there!
Come and visit!!!! I promise it will be worth the trip!
@@jessicapayne yes you have to!
It's been a bit since I visited that shop. In fact the name didn't even ring a bell until you showed a shot of the outside. My only criticism is that nothing was priced. Ive never even heard of Chelsea on Green!
Lady in Raleigh; would love to do a group event at that place. My daughter goes to college in Winston Salem and will def be making that trip!!!
That would really be amazing!!! 😆
Come antique shopping in Mebane, N. C. To my son’s shop. Carolina Pickin’❤️
Don't be surprised if she does! I bet she will! (and maybe while I am out golfing in Mebane/Graham/Burlington area)
Holy Guacamole I would lose my mind!❤
And I did!!!! I have a feeling I’ll be going back this week! 😅
Regarding the 'juicer' 😂😂 looks like something that may hold pipe tobacco or cigarettes? The lid could hold ashes. Definitely not a juicer! Your cake looks deliciously beautiful!!!
Now I have to figure out how to move to N.C.!😳❤
Hahahaha!!! Let me know when you come and I’ll meet you in Highpoint! 😆
Looks like a factory. Some nice items, but actually not so great.
Music was nice.
New follower enjoyed the show
Yay!! Welcome to the channel - I’m so happy you found me and decided to follow along. We have a good time here and I hope that you will continue to enjoy the weekly content!!! 🥰
😊
You are such a beautiful lady, keep investing into your SELFCARE.❤
Thank youuuuu!!!! I don’t always do the best job taking care of myself - but I’m trying! 🥰
I think the brass can would serve better as a blanket holder 🤷🏾♂️
That`s a German beer mug.
Yes!!!! I will be drinking both beer and coffee out of it! But not at the same time, lol!!!
I thought it was a Tobacco holder.
That actually makes more sense to me - but I think it’s cool whatever it is, lol!!
You have wonderful taste
Shopping
Why don’t you research the cabinet’s worth and if it’s a priceless antique, it will be worth purchasing at the $145 price…❤
I definitely will! I have a picture of it so I can do a Google search and see if something similar pops up! Great idea!
Pls send me that info on all the markets
The vases appears to be replicas of antiques.
I came upon your channel today and really liked the antique shopping. I have heard that if you are craving chocolate, you may have a Magnesium deficiency.
You are very charming !
Awwww thank you for the compliment! I'm happiest when I'm antiquing - so I'm glad that that shines through on the other side of the screen!
Sorry but this is mostly reproduction not old
It's ok - I still very much enjoyed visiting the shop and love what I brought home! Thanks so much for watching!
You talk too much . Move along!
