    Durga is the original form of the divine mother. The word comes from the word “Durg “ which means fort. The fort refers to the universe. Since she is nature herself, she resides in the “fort” ie. the universe. Nature is affected by time, Shiva is timeless and beyond time. But for the sustenance of the universe, “Sada Shiva” who is beyond time and space (meaning he does not reside in any universe as all universes are material creation bound to be impacted by time) enters the universe in the form of Shiv and with Durga regulates the cosmos.

Coming on NavDurgas... They are considered to be the nine Forms of Durga who inturn is one form taken by goddess Parvati. Similarly, goddess Kali is the form of goddess when she is very angry, Kali is associated with Mahavidyas and often used to describe the Tantric sect of devotees who worship the goddess...
    Fun fact-: Matangi who is one of the Mahavidyas is aka. Tantric Saraswati and Kamala is known as Tantric Lakhsmi...

    Vedas have "deep inner meanings" , something we usually say "in -between lines" in our daily life, right?
    So, keeping this in mind - all those fearful forms have deep - inner meanings.
    For example, the third form viz. "chinnamasta" with Her head cut and 3 streams of blood oozing out, and 3 dieties drinking that blood .....
    The inner meaning for this is : This Goddess symbolizes about 3 naadi s viz. "ida", "pingala" which are around the backbone of us.
    They are filled with nectar , after deep meditation ,
    We can only experience this after deep meditation.
    One more thing I wanted to inform you is : Everything in Hinduism , viz. all slokas , stotras, etc. are written in Sanskrit.
    And, the names of every person as well as place etc. also have deep meanings.
    And, another point is: All the Gods and Goddesses have multiple names, acquired by them due to their Great Deeds. For Example, Sita has many names including :
    (1)Mythili (means , the daughter of the King who ruled the "Mithila Kingdom"),
    (2)Jaanaki (means , the daughter of "Janaka" King).
    etc.
    Similarly, in the above mentioned "Chinnamasta" means:
    Chinna = means "cut"
    masta = means "Head"
    Now, you get it , why She is known as "Chinnamasta".
    After learning Sanskrit, you would get to understand these very easily.
    And, Because Gods and Goddesses have multiple names, they usually are prayed with "Sahasranama stotrams"
    Again, "Sahasra" means "thousand"(indicating infinite , however, these stotrams usally will have a thousand names for the specific God/Goddess whose Sahasranama stotram we are reading.
    nama = (means 'name')
    There are many Sahasranama stotrams viz.
    Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram
    Lalitha Sahasranama Stotram
    Siva Sahasranama Stotram
    etc.

    Concept And Summary:
    Brahman in Upanishad(created approx 15thousand years back. Hymns of Vedas written even 5 to 10 thousand years prior to creation of Upanishad.) is formless and eternal truth. In later stages of the evolution of Sanatan, Brahman was personified in the thoughts and sadhanas/penances of the rishis. These thoughts mingled with beautiful stories of wisdom
    and bhakti were inked in between 10 to 5 thousand years back in order to illuminate the human souls. These period is the period when Sanatan was taking shape of Hinduism and the scriptures inked during this period is called Smriti(The Puranas. Total 18 Puranas are there). All these stories are coming from the Puranas. The ultimate truth is that the Brahman some times considered as male (Shiva/Vishnu) or the female (Shakti/Durga/Maha lakshmi/Kali ...... Etc). The female conception of Brahman takes different forms because Brahman is considered as the prakriti here, the power by which sthiti, the immobile and unimaginable conception of Brahman is mobilized to create universe. Now think the depiction of Kali. A naked female is touching the lying supreme epitome of consciousness (Shiva) by her foot mobilizing him to create the creations. So Kali and Shiva are inseparable from each other. The concept of Kali(the Power of Kaal/Shiva/female form of supreme consciousness) touching Shiva(male form of supreme consciousness/Kaal/Time) by her foot best portraits the concept of consciousness/Brahman. Finally all are manifestations of Brahman(The supreme consciousness) and the gods and goddesses are carved out of Brahman by rishis born between 5 to 15 thousand years back in their Sadhana/Penances. And Hindus are the descendants of these rishis. So all hindus has got a Gotra (name of the rishi who's descendant is that person).
    For more info.....
    Buddhism is a philosophy carved out of Sanatan by lord Buddha. That is why you find similarities in Gods and Goddesses of Buddhism and Buddha himself is considered and worshipped as the Avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism.

    There are 9 Durgas to whom 9 Nights or Navratris are devoted. Check out 9 durgas.
    Parvati was Sati in her previous birth.
    Adhishakti is 1 who manifested as 3 prime goddesses...Parvati (Kali), Laxmi and Saraswati. They are all 1 and are primarily known as Durga.

    The great meanings are told in the form of stories .It's natural to be confused .These are all the forms of Tantra ,vidya means skills like exorcism ,magic like hypnotism .After all we are all manifestation of energies we accumulated .The Aura ,the charisma etc etc and vidya enables us to controll it .The same energy makes us alive and ghost or spirit after wards .Vidya are such mysterious knowledge of life and death .This great energy are always in the form of women .Which creates a new life synonyms with creation of universe .Dark knowledge ( vidya ) destroys while good knowledge ( vidya ) like penance for Tripura sundari or Laxmi creates make healthy and wealthy .In nutshell it's all these 10 vidyas which run universe ,life and wealth and at the same destroys by war too .It's the summert depiction of the universe from creation to destruction and again creation caused by energy

    the thing to remember is that these are variations of stories from different traditions.in the end, they are ultimately one and the same-various aspects of the one divine feminine

    each form of the 10 Mahavidya are very esoteric and too deep to understand by a common person
    everything said in the video is like a very thin upper layer but they have very deep meanings
    like the 3 blood jets coming from Devi Chinnamasta are the 3 basic nadis in the body
    In the Pranamayakosha or the energy body, there are 72,000 nadis, pathways
    Of energy or prana in the system. The 72,000 nadis spring from three basic nadis - the left, the right and the central - the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna.
    Ida, the feminine representing the moon, is the left channel. It originates in Muladhara, Ida ends up in the left nostril.
    Pingala, the masculine representing the sun, is the right channel. It originates in Muladhara, Pingala ends up in the right nostril.
    Sushumna is the central channel through which Kundalini moves upwards running up the body from just below Muladhara chakra to Sahasrara chakra at the crown of the head, thus energising the seven chakras.
    The ability to balance Ida and Pingala, and cause Prana to flow in Sushumna results in an inner balance where whatever happens outside, there is a certain space within you which never gets disturbed and scale up the peaks of consciousness.

    I hope this clarifies your doubts a bit:
    1. Sati = Parvati = Durga.
    2. Shiva = matter, Sati/Parvati = Energy. Matter+Energy = masculine+feminine = creation.
    3. Durga = colletive energy of all devas, thus feminine.
    4. After Durga destroyed Mahisasura, she resided in Parvati, because Parvati is the devine feminine, mother goddess.
    5. Divine feminine/mother goddess has multiple forms, for example, Dash Mahavidya.
    6. So, Sati = Parvati = Durga = Dash Mahavidya = Navadurga = divine feminine = mother goddess. All in one.

    The one explained by dr Aggarwal on TRS podcast is much more sensible for me. The crux is, feminine energy is equally powerful to nurture and protect the creation.

    Chinnamasta fed her friends with her own blood not because only they were hungry, the story told here is half.
    I goes like
    Once Goddess went to take bath in Mandakni river with ther two friends. As every thing was going very much fine and none of the Asura (Rakshasa) was harassing Gods, Mother Goddess does not went for any battle. The two of her friends were Tamoguni or Tamsi in Nature (one who feeds on flesh and blood of others), since there was no battle from a long time they (both the friends, who joins Mother Goddess in battle and eat the Asuras) did not got flesh and blood to satisfy there hunger, hence they demanded for blood so that there hunger could be satisfied. Mother Goddess bieng the Mother Nature do not harm any innocent hence she could not find any way to feed her friends with blood rather than cutting her own head and allow them to satisfy there hunger. This is why Mother Goddess is considered greatest of all.
    Please reply if u read my comment as i just started to watch ur videos and am pleased by u guys. Stay blessed.
