Thanks for trying to keep where you were on th dl. Yeah I have a beach house on that side and I've been diving all along it since the late 60's. Fortunately the winds make it rough and the water dirty most of the time, which keeps it from getting fished out. In the 70's, when I was out there a lot, there were huge piles of fish! Massive schools back then!!! I moved to the big isle permanently in 79, and I flew back a lot, when it looked like the waves were going to get really good in the country and enjoy the surf. But, I just went diving out in all my grounds occasionally. But in the 80's and 90's I started going out and checking out all my spots again when the conditions were really nice! I noticed all of my spots still had fish but the piles were much smaller than years before. But, it was still really good, so thanks to it being rough and murky so often it wasn't ruined! I love hearing the humpback whales in the winter and spring when underwater! It's such an eerie, yet amazing part of ddiving! Also in the winter, the really big purple kumu come in from the deep water and not much gets me more excited than seeing those 5+ lb. ones! I used to dive all along the outside ledge, and most often alone, but I grew up in the country and then around where you were and had been finding all the really good grounds for many years before and after I moved to the big island for 25 years!!! It's really special when it's kona's and just looks like your in Tahiti or something cause it transforms the weather into a tropical paradise!!! Thanks for the video! I enjoyed it! Aloha, D.L.
Your content is the only stuff out there that is really a great watch. Look forward to when you release these vids. Appreciate that you cover the whole spectrum.
Nice I'm in Indo my friends speared a doggy tuna lastnight about 15kg. They said there was hundreds of them down there. Big one got away! Fun to just be in boat for drift throughs
Epic conditions for sure Mark! We kayak launched out of there just a few days later and got pummeled by rain squalls and strong south wind. Was hoping to run into one of the ono you spared, fishing live opelu, but no luck. Thanks for the motivation to hit that area again!
Awesome fish mark, congrats mate, I noticed you use a double roller, what size gun do you use? I recently missed my first wahoo using an 1100 single roller, thanks drew
Great vid. Hearing the whales communicating was awesome
