I like the segmented for some things, mainly smaller, light skinned things. The hollow points, solids, truncated, etc., all have their uses. The 22 LR is just an unbelievably utilitarian cartridge. Thanks for the video.
I'm going to try shorts this yr can you revist them .had a guy this yr where I hunt got hit just hit thank god with a round his Buddy shot went throgh squirrel smacked him in the back of head 60 yrs up left a welt but that's all
Did he not see him down range? He's very fortunate that the projectile had slown down by the time it got there. Idk if I'd want to be in the woods with the shooter. Lol
@TheOldFatDadGoober I finally tried them Velocitor 22lr for the 1st time. I see why they make them crater in the clay tests you do. The bolt hits the back like a hammer. And I have a special aftermarket buffer. Heavy duty almost like a hunting big caliber ammo.
Have been trying the new CCI Uppercut, have not been able to locate any yet here in upper Michigan. If you have not seen it, it the first jacketed hollow point for .22lr. For personal defense in 2 1/2" bbls and out of a rifle, very explosive.. Sounds good for predators and varmints..??..
@@TheOldFatDadGoober I found out about them not long ago while doing a little chronograph searching. Seems they work with anything from .17 cal to .500, from copper to lead, from pistol slow to north of 5,000 fps, where even the high end chronos struggle. And it's not a giant monster like Lab Radar.
@@TheOldFatDadGoober There's a video where it's being tested next to a MagnetoSpeed, next to the industry-standard Oehler-Research, next to another common chrono, next to the Lab Radar. It's the only one that never failed to pick up everything tested.

Thanks for watching!
I thought that stood for hole puncher and sloppy hole puncher turns out I was right. Some science right there. Great stuff OFD
Thanks for watching!
Gotta say I really appreciate the smaller rim fire rnd test u r putting out I had no idea there were frag rnds for the 22lr. Awesome
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
All your videos are fun to watch. Thank you for the effort!
Thanks for watching!
Just found your channel. Just subscribed too. Nice real world reviews. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I’ve found the segmented are great on grouse, the mini mags zip right thru them and can still fly off.
Thanks for watching! That's a good use for them.
I bought some segmenting have yet to use but I think they will be a great squirrel round.
Thanks for watching! Let me know how it goes.
Fantastic video! Lots of thought and effort in this one, good job! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
TOFD G. Very good video. Interesting result, I would have expected the faster bullet to win. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks for watching!
Good video and information. I think I will be picking up some. I have not seen any yet.
Thanks for watching! I've seen them at a few websites.
For small game table fare, meat destruction may be an issue
Thanks for watching! I've heard that this particular load is not really bad about messing up meat. The stinger based one though...😱
I'd like to see speeds from a rifle barrel and the expansion there
Thanks for watching! I did a bunch of segmenting tests in the past. Maybe it's time to revisit.
😅Thats exactly what I wanted to see,I think the 40grn Segmenting is a better round round!
Thanks for watching!

@@TheOldFatDadGoober yup that's why I'm going to shorts

Neat, slower rds do more damage than a 1300fps 22. I'd that stock can fit a bull barrel get the stainless 20" tapered barrel by Green Mountain.
@@user-my5gj4me6q Thanks for watching! I'm not sure if I could get a bull barrel in there 🤔

Looking good in those safety glasses.
Thanks for watching! 🤩
good test. "Goober Nation gun range" makes me laugh every time
Thanks for watching!
I wonder what t does thru a hand gun barrel
Thanks for watching! I've done some testing of these segmented rounds in shorter barrels. They all seem to perform well even at slower velocities.

always fun to watch. Where did your channel name come from?
Thanks for watching! Channel name is what my kids used to call me.
Good test Goober.
Thanks for watching!
Why does the can jump up? Why does the can not get pushed towards the trayectory of the bullet instead?
Thanks for watching! The expansion of the goodies inside launches it I think.
@@TheOldFatDadGoober it would be interesting to make a video about that with somo science guys 👍👍👍
@@TheOldFatDadGoober you think if you lay the can on its side and shoot it it would behave differently?
@@hunter5369 Good question, I don't know. Have to try sometime.
I see you got yourself on of those fancy Garmin radar units!
Thanks for watching! I did! Lucked out on a good sale. They are worth it, super easy and no more accidently shooting a chronograph.

Are u gonna do round nose next? 40 grain?
Thanks for watching! Round nose vs segmented? I was thinking about doing a hypervelocity (Velocitor or Stinger) vs the Minimal segmented.
@@TheOldFatDadGoober nppp! Round nose cci 40gr vs cci stinger 32gr out of a pistol
