Great review Don! I was considering this model, but I think I'll just build one to my specs... I like the concept...

Thanks so much. That sounds like a good idea. Guitaretish has some very good bodies and electronics. I'd suggest Tonerider for pickups and possibly a Warmoth neck from the Sceamin deals section. It's been a while since I've built a guitar so there could be some less expensive neck options out there.

The push/pull is so you can get the usual middle position TELECASTER sound, by engaging the neck pickup with the bridge pickup for when you have jist the bridge pickup selected. It's not because they were "trying to be fancy". Without it, you cannot achieve the true telecaster neck/bridge selection.

Thanks for watching. I genuinely appreciate your comments. I understood what they were going for and was poking some fun. Since it's a Strat set up like a Nashville Tele, neither of those guitars has a neck and bridge position, so why should this one? Just kidding. It's an added feature that some players could use. Take Care. Don G

Monty's Pickups makes a compound paste to darken and fill in the grain on these laurel fingerboards. Users have said it does indeed work. It might take a couple applications on open grain woods like laurel.

Overall that was a negative review of a pretty interesting guitar. I bought the same model (gold finish) for a very good price, and I have really enjoyed it. Maybe I was lucky, but there aren't too many things to fault on my guitar. it stays in tune, the neck shape is comfortable, the fret work is very reasonable and it produces sounds that I find very useful.🎸☺

Thanks for watching. I appreciate your comments. I’m glad you got a good deal and it’s definitely a decent guitar. I just think there’s better choices for less money. I upgraded the bridge saddles and tuners on this guitar for my friend and it was a big improvement. Take Care / Don

If you like the sound of two pickups on a tele, you can't get it with the five way switch

Agreed. I don’t think the added feature on this guitar did the trick. Both the 1 and 2 position with the added neck pickup didn’t sound very good imo. And isn’t a Nashville Strat just a Strat lol. Thanks for watching

@@Bluesgtar Seems to be a Nashville Tele body with a strat neck.

I think it’s more like a Strat body with Nashville Tele pickgaurd and controls with a Strat neck. It’s not quite sure what it wants to be. I guess that’s what makes it Paranormal. “beyond the scope of normal scientific understanding “

I bought mine from a store on reverb that advertised a free set up, and boy, it was set up better than most of the guitars I have bought, like over 30 easy.

Sweetwater has them on sale right now, 20-ish percent off - seems like most players agree with your review.

Thanks for watching... Yeah GC also has them marked down to $329 from $429. Still too much imo.. My friend came and picked up the Squire today. He picked up the Jet JT350 Tele that I reviewed and fell in love with it. It's so much nicer than the Squier and about the same money...

Hey, I'm not sure what happened with Fender's quality control, but it seems like they're not doing a great job these days. I mean, I have a Squier that was made in 2010, and it was perfect right out of the box. It's really disappointing to see a company that used to be known for its great quality, even in their less expensive models, go downhill like this. But I guess that's the way things are these days - companies raise their prices and lower the quality of their products, and it's not just guitars, it's everything.

Thanks for watching and for your comments... I agree. I am a big fan of the o Pro Tone Squiers from the 90s. They didn't last long since they were better than the Mex Fenders at that time and were out selling them. I've thought about collecting all 6 models but they have become somewhat expensive...

What do you mean the wood grain is going the wrong direction?

    • @Bluesgtar
      @Bluesgtar  2 месяца назад

Thanks for watching. That’s a good question and I didn’t describe that very well. The grain in the fretboard is running length wise from the headstock to the heal as it should. What bothered me is that the neck doesn’t really have a finish and the grain is rough. When you do any bends you can feel it since you are dragging the string across the grain.

Nice demo. Hard to find a cheaper Nashville setup like this Paranormal offers, but the laurel fretboard is a deal breaker for me. It's on sale near me, online only, if I cant see the fretboard and play it in person I'm not biting.

If I owned a guitar I didn't like as much as you don't like this one, I'd get rid of it. Someone else will love it, so give it to someone who can appreciate it.
Give it back to the owner.

Hi and thanks for watching. My friend who lent me this guitar for the review agrees with me regarding the value for the price point. I don’t dislike the guitar but there are just better options for less money. Of course that’s just my opinion which is what reviews should be. I hope you watched the entire review since I had some good things to say about it as well. Take Care / Don G
