1st kyu grading, some people i know already have the rank so i think i can do it, i have been training for about 3 years. 2 1/2 in armour, i have competed in some competitions (you might have heard of mumeishi 3's) and done very well against people more experienced than me so im not nervous about my grading, just cant wait!
u mean nito ... search for kendo nito if u r still interested... i personally think its a quite advanced way to do kendo and needs good knowledge and physical strength... ull always have to go through 1 shinai style first if u ask me :D
well kenjutsu is just like a junior high school, its (you can say) a basic of all swordsman martial art, it teach the way of sword, the principles, and basic technique, and strength building...kendo is just like a senior high...teach a deeply focus, how to control your emotion, and deeper sword style, and bushido way in kendo, you can choose your best weapon for you like naginata (long handle katana), 1 katana, 2 katanas, chisa katana (little sword) and tanto (knife)
@MrHarshaagousta no you dont choose, you practise with shinai (bamboo katana) and boken/bokuto and then you could study a different part but i believe that naginata is not kendo and its not like you fight accross category and i think these days kenjutsu is best practised after kendo as its alot more violent or atleast this is what my teachers have come to tell me
@MrHarshaagousta I think that there is a base for every thing and I thinnk that is through basic kata then shinai kendo but i would love to do the one where you use two short shinai (i dont know what they are called)
well i wish u good luck on that one :D doing kendo in germany im not entirely sure which exact rank that is but from what i read its ur second (5th kyu) ? anyway all i can say is the more u practice the more close u come to nito stuff... :D dunno if u r training in armor but i guess so ?
The Kyu is before the Dan.So you need to pass from 5th Kyu to 1st then have your Shodan exam and become 1st dan.Theres a total of 8 dans.5th dan is a really good level.
@danjbateman well different teacher tells different way to taught hahahaha i dont know, maybe its only in my dojo, but when im still a pupil my sensei told me that i should choose my own weapon and master it
ah ok ... then u r at least as experienced as me although i had alot of stuff that stood in my way im trained 3 years as well but have to take a break while studying -.- competitions r great :D anyway 1st kyu congrats man i hope u get through its definitely getting tougher :D
this lady is awesome, great style and grace
@jbdsame thanks, only 2 person made it to 5th Dan. the one i was filming and the one at the bottom right
i dunno how far u r at the moment but its a long journey to 3rd dan :D
u can be glad if u make it to any dan to be honest... :D
wow his is amazing to watch ty so much for recording this
beautiful..inspirational..
It's lke a well choreographed dance.
The guy at the back moves a bit too hastily and fidgety, which is a real shame because I think his posture and grip on the sword is quite nice.
yeah, my teacher told me recently to keep shinai kendo main stream but at 3rd dan earliest i should do other styles

i was not surprised if only two of them passed. the rest lost their "Kigurai" at the end of Sanbonme, a bit hasty and forced.
Very good
Did Eung Jung pass?
the guy on the extreme left, the bigger fellow. I think his left wrist bends too much when he executes the kata
ooh daaaaamn i remember when i took those test hahaha, now i already graduate and teaching at my friend's dojo hahhaha
@MrHarshaagousta I think that there is a base for every thing and I thinnk that is through basic kata then shinai kendo but i would love to do the one where you use two short shinai (i dont know what they are called)
Nito ryu. One short sword and one bit shorter that regul shinai size 37
Few mistakes, but still good.
well i wish u good luck on that one :D
