I think Pettersson can and will get 140points consistently but he has to get there. A part of me believes that hes getting more attention from other teams and getting checked more hard than years passed so its part of the learning curve for Pettersson

Seth Jones makes way too much $$$ and yes if they give up a 1st it's probably a top 3 pick. If you get 2 or 3 1st's I'd consider it.
Honestly, I think Petterson had an equally impressive rookie year as Bedards so far. Remember when he had 10 goals in 10 games. My favourite goal he scored was in his rookie year, that clapper on the rush against Detroit where he looked like Paul Kariya coming back for Scott Stevens vengence,
That’s a really good point. He had a very good rookie season. I just want to keep seeing his skills on display and him shooting the puck because he has a great shot. Bedard to me might have a better career. But I don’t like trading superstars for non-superstars. So that’s why I’m going all in if we’re gonna talk about a trade with Chicago.
I wouldn’t want to see a Tkachuk for Huberdeau trade. Looked good but was awful. But I think there’s no way that Pettersson becomes a Blackhawk.

He's a RFA this year. So the next contract he signs he's a UFA. So I believe that we own his right for all of next season as well being a RFA.

I''m getting a kick out of these rumors too Trev. but It is Petey who has the final say. and I'm okay with Petey staying or leaving as long as we send him to a team that has NHL bound prospects and picks in return. and I don't see us getting Bedard in return in a deal with Chicago i that would defeat the purpose of improving their lineup.
These rumours are outrageous to me. But maybe there is some truth to it. The Bedard deal is the only way I can see Vancouver interested in making a deal with Chicago. But they won't move Bedard.
