@@KathrynCraftmehappy same here, using clip boards or safety pins for leverage and all. Friendship pins were also an obsession. Those need to be trendy again.
I don’t think so. There are industrial sized ones to make commercial quantities of flat braid but I haven’t seen a toy-sized hand cranked one like this.
Sadly not, unless your cord is extremely fine. I found that a full bobbin of regular 1mm Chinese knotting cord would make a bracelet that wrapped twice around my wrist. Embroidery thread made a cord that was quite a bit longer but not close to 30 inches.
Yes, the instructions say not to, but as long as you wind on neatly and don’t go past the ends of the bobbins it works well. You can read about the threads I used here - www.craftmehappy.com/2023/10/refilling-kumikreator-bobbins-and.html
Oh I’m sorry. I’m not affiliated with this product in any way (other than being an Amazon affiliate) but I did write quite a lengthy review of it on my blog. You must be much quicker than I am at kumihimo. It took me 15 minutes from loading to removing the bracelet. If you include the time to wind the bobbins it took maybe 45 minutes to make a bracelet. I couldn’t hand weave one in that time.
Muchísimas gracias amor por esta herramienta de trabajo.
You’re very welcome!
That’s a really cool contraption. These bracelets/necklaces were huge when I was a kid in the 90s. Thanks for demonstrating how this works!
You’re very welcome! I made friendship bracelets in the 80s so this has been a real nostalgia trip for me!

that was s0 helpful😊
Thank you so much!
Is there a machine like these that can make a “flat piece”?

@@KathrynCraftmehappy Thanks for the reply! I’m looking for this to make my own Do Himo, Men Himo, for Kendo Bogu.

Is there a way to add beads?
@@layna8052 no, unfortunately not. Adding beads to the threads would mean that you could fit very little thread onto the bobbins.
Can the bobbins hold enough to make a 30 inch cord?

By the time you load it you could have half of it done.
