  • The rapid advancements of analytics, including AI, machine learning, and optimization algorithms, offer tremendous opportunities to expedite global decarbonization efforts. While renewables contribute a growing share of the mix of energy sources used by utilities to produce electricity, they also increase uncertainty in these systems.
    Professor David Brown, Faculty Director of the Center for Energy, Development, and the Global Environment (EDGE), describes the development of state-of-the-art analytic methods for improving the efficiency and reliability of electric utilities. He explores related critical challenges and opportunities for analytics and algorithms in driving the energy transition.
