So, let's hoping he will do a complete renovation, including the gate operating remotely. The gate needs to be locked at all times, with intercom. Ly needs to be safe at the property where no one comes and goes as they pleases. The area seems fairly isolated and she has no electricity. It doesn't seem safe and secure enough for a single mother and her child out in the remote area by themselves.

In the meantime though, as you are so good with your hands, why don't you elevate the fire from off the ground by building a brick fire pit, and raise the pipe up also?
