7029 Clun Castle 'The Great Western Railway 1Z48' 11th May 2024

60 Years ago, The Famous 1Z48 Charter Tour set the record for the fastest run between Plymouth and Bristol in only 133 minutes to celebrate the Anniversary of the unofficial 100 mph speed record run by 3440 City of Truro.
60 years later We see 7029 Clun Castle hauling the special Two-day Charter Tour to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the tour. Today's run starts at Plymouth to Bristol Temple Meads and then Non-Stop all the way to London Paddington which was the first time since 1965 Clun Castle last came to the station.
Location: Swindon Through Lines, Paddington Arrival and Hanwell.
