I was given a 142 with a round bold knob and wooden fold down stock, it was in pretty rough shape, I cleaned it up .........it's a sweet little rifle !!
I recently got that same gun in a auction in fair condition didn't really know about it at the time but it just had a cool factor paid 200 and from what I've learned it's a nice rifle can't wait to shoot it .
I love the look of the 142 and my 152 works great, but like you mentioned, it feels awkward to shoot. Still a sweet gun, but it is the first Mossberg I shot that just didn't feel right.
I’ve had mine since I was a teenager. It’s killed more critters than I can count. Everything from squirrels, rabbits, coons, opossum, snakes, rats, even took a coyote with it one night in the headlights. And I still use it as my main squirrel gun opening day. I’ve never considered it awkward to shoot. But I’m tall and skinny too. Maybe that’s a factor.
A couple of weeks ago my buddy gave my grandson this rifle the magazine was missing and the trigger guard broken but I found a original trigger guard and an original Magazine with the adapter for the 22 shorts but I cannot close the bolt with the short adapter in it any ideas
@WalnutandSteel thank you for the response. I wanted to give it a thorough cleaning after taking dad's to the range. I am unsure how to properly clean this weapon.
I have a 142a that belonged to my grandpa. I used it when I was younger squirrel hunting. It was passed around and is missing the bolt. Any connections where I can purchase a bolt? Would love to make this compete
Thank you my friend. I found a 142a this afternoon and bought it. Thank you for this video it helped reinforce my purchase:)

My favorite is my 142A / T / Bolt .
Just catching up on some of the videos I've never seen this one here is a real good real good stuff keep up the good work
Thanks my friend!
Do you have the original sling? My personal one has the original green canvas sling, pretty decent all considered.

Great video! I just subscribed. I like Aguila too. Thanks
I have a 142-A with a scope and sling. From what you say it's a 1949 model. I'm trying to find out what it is worth.
I have a t bolt and can work the action with my thumb without moving my hand from the stock .

Do you have a video that shows the disassembly of the mossberg 142A T-bolt?
No I don’t think I do

You know what I’m thinking…
I have a model 144 but don’t know much about it

Probably ebay would be the best place to look. You could also contact Havlin’s they may have something
Does anyone know how to field strip a 142a? I can't find any videos.
I got a 152 it does not as an A behind the 152 what is the difference.
The 152 is a different model. The letter after the 142a is a revision designation
Do you know where I can get a magazine for the 142a?
Ebay is the best bet
