@death2Marxistzzzzzz I meant in comparison to who usually is helping. For instance in gulf war 1 there were tons of other countries helping and basically formed a superteam.
Regrettably, Australia was also involved in the invasion, although on a much smaller scale than the US and UK. Australia committed two frigates, ten aircraft including four F/A-18 Hornets, and 500 soldiers including special forces.
The UK has dozens and dozens of books, numerous documentaries, a plethora of podcasts, and gets plenty of mention for its part in UK media, which rarely mentions the US. Just as the US has all of the above, and rarely mentions the UK. Stop complaining about a non-issue.
15:16 the driver does not operator the coaxial machine gun, the gunner does, I believe the confusion stems from the presence of bow mounted machine guns on WW2 tanks
Suggestion to OR: When you shift your focus throw a quick blip on the screen to indicate where your new subjects are. Just a quick flash and disappearing circle or something.
I love how this series highlights how during the early war despite being out numbered and facing an enemy in prepared positions technology can turn the tide of a battle. Imagine the same battle but in WWII? Then think of the late war on how two dudes in pajamas with EFP's could turn into a tank columns worst nightmare.
There's one slight error in the wording around the 15:18 mark "the driver sprays the path ahead with the coaxial machine gun" this would of been the gunner not the driver. other then that the video is perfect as always.

British Challenger 2 tanks are awesome and they really kick ass.
They're quite good, these Challengers, aren't they? 😂
Effective tanks. Hideous, but effective.
@@SignificantpowerI dunno I actually prefer the chally’s look over abrams and Russo-Soviet t series, the leopard 2 Poland ones look sharp as hell tho
@@z54964380 Might be my bias talking, but ever since I was a kid, when people said tank, the Abrams always came to mind. Not to disparage other western tanks, but the Abrams will always have a special place in my heart.
They're getting dealt with in Ukraine. These sort of batles against unwilling and lowly trained infantry has given the west a false sense of security. Videos like this don't help the delusion
@@Significantpower you need your eyesight checked 😂
Best looking tank in the world by far!
Hey OR, I'm sure you have a long list of battles to do, but I really think the battle of Jutland would make a great video. A massive dreadnought clash and lots of political significance on who was the larger navel power. Also seeing the navel tactics during WW1 would be very interesting as they are often seen as a mix between old navel warfare and modern navel warfare. Keep up the good work!
I was in Task Force Viking CJSOTF North. SF Medic & Sniper. ODA 056 B Co 2nd BN 10th SFG(A) We infilled via the MC-130 "Ugly Baby" (Bird #1 of 6) mission to Bashur and then posted on Hill Top 722 on March 23 2003. Attacked with the Peshmerga in Ayn Sifni on April 6th pushed south to Mosul first ODA or any Americans in there to the Airport by the evening of the 11th of April 2003. Fought tanks on foot and had never received as much machine-gun / ZPU 14.5, ZSU 23mm, mortar and artillery fire in my life before or since and I have dozens of deployments. Those opening weeks of Iraqi Freedom were nothing like Afghanistan I went through all my 9 lives in days. Semper Fi to the Marines and a big AIRBORNE to the 101st ABN who reinforced us at the Airport in Mosul. Damn glad to see you boys flying and rolling in. Finished off the deployment doing SSE for WMD and HVT Kill / Capture raids for the "The deck of cards". This was the most do it all (SF Mission Set) deployment you could have had as an SF guy. We did it all in one deployment. FID UW CT DA SR and some more shit we just thought up out of the blue:) De Opresso Liber Docsully Cardinal 1-6

Thanks for all the thumbs up. Most folks don't realize that this stuff was done by regular folks that are now just their neighbors that they don't know much about:) But they live next-door to a few patriotic quiet dependable dangerous yet trust worthy nice folks, just don't fly planes into our buildings and keep you radical islam shit to yourselves. :)
Dude, I want to read, hear, or see more about your operation!!! That does indeed sounds epic. I've read a lot about SF over the years and it is truly remarkable what you can accomplish. Was in the Navy, but helped out an ODA from 3rd BN, 20th SFG(A) , FL National Guard while in Kirkuk during 2006. De Opresso Liber, Doc!
It seems that you have zero knowledge about politics and history of the middle east since 1980's. Saddam Hussein like other arab dictators was fighting Islamic radicalism, he excuted and persecuted members of islamic organisations like (islamic brotherhood and !slamic state etc..) those organisations fought against him cause his regime was semi secular. So you toppled him, and I$I$ was founded and Iraq became a puppet of the islamic iranian regime. Nice job at fighting Islamic radicalism smartass, you shot yourself in the foot. It is known and proven that Tal!ban and Al Q@ed@ were supported and funded by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, if you realy wanted to destroy islamic radicalism, then you should have destroyed those countries. However you can't harm your Saudi friends even if they have been terrorising the west for decades, their oil is too precious for you!. All you did was murder Iraqi young men who have been fighting with rusty 1950's soviet weapons, so brave of you!.
I can't wait for you to do the battle of as-samawah. I was there. 1st PLT C co 1/325 AIR, 82d
Amazing story, graphics and narration .................. thankyou
Puts a whole new meaning to “firefight”
Not a single vehicle loss from the british advance thats insane considering the circumstances. The mines, mortar fire and hull down tanks is quite a tough challenge. Challenger 2's are hard as nails and they shouldnt of discontinued them
cause they're fighting against a 3rd world army. try it in ukraine vs russia.
Definitely a top 5-10 main battle tank. The Japanese have a monster now as well.
The challenger has never been destroyed, in any battle. The only NATO tank not have been.
@@RemingtonSteelBritish armored crews won the tank war games last year in Operation Iron Spear. Second were the Spanish in their Leopards and third were the US in their Abrams. The main reason was the Challenger’s ability to allow for the gunner and the commander to spot, target and fire independently - something which the Abrams and Leopard can’t do.
@@darkmatter6714 Abrams weight and gas guzzling engine hamper it as well
I always love your videos. Thank you.
15:20 the driver can’t fire any of the weapons. The coax is fired by the gunner.
I thought we held the title for most badass firefighters here in the US, but evidently not. Disregarding a massive armored firefight to extinguish a building fire is next level
Those Challenger tanks are something else
amazing videos on iraq war 2. Usa and Uk were really alone in taking a country. And UK did not get the credit it deserved in most USA media outlets back then. Keep up the good work, love to see more GWOT videos, 20plus years of battles
They were alone because it was an illegal war.
@@2K6Ohio actually mr ohio last week i declared all war to be legal
try to keep up would you?
Love binge watching these!
Great video!
Thanks for another terrific video!
Well done mini documentary. Thank you.
gotta say, probably my favorite part of this video has been the spectacular British banter. XD
6:10 boy how things have changed
15:16 the driver does not operator the coaxial machine gun, the gunner does, I believe the confusion stems from the presence of bow mounted machine guns on WW2 tanks
4:41 the most British banter ever.
Correction. This is the most British battle in modern history.
I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Shared video.
40 Commando also had naval gunfire support from HMAS Anzac and HMS Marlborough.
The co-ax is not operated by the driver, it is coaxial with the main gun.
Continuing greatness of vids.
Literally the t55 where in an uptier battle 💀
Suggestion to OR: When you shift your focus throw a quick blip on the screen to indicate where your new subjects are. Just a quick flash and disappearing circle or something.
I love how this series highlights how during the early war despite being out numbered and facing an enemy in prepared positions technology can turn the tide of a battle. Imagine the same battle but in WWII? Then think of the late war on how two dudes in pajamas with EFP's could turn into a tank columns worst nightmare.
Tanks for keeping me occupied for 20min. Needed it. Cheers!
I learn more about war and battle from this channels than in history class keep it up your video are amazing
Thank you.
There's one slight error in the wording around the 15:18 mark "the driver sprays the path ahead with the coaxial machine gun" this would of been the gunner not the driver. other then that the video is perfect as always.
How are you able to get such precise details for the videos that you do? You even have the radio transmissions.
After Action Reports, Officer Debriefs, Signals (radio & other communications) records,
Reconnaissance data Etc.
-- There are plenty of other sources of information as well, depending on Classification rating of course.
- Hope that assists your understanding of Military information sources, & Best Wishes to you.
I love all of these! videos!!!
every time i see one of ur vids about the iraq i feel sad and proud for my country !
The narrator sounds very much like Marcus Hearn who is known for his Hammer films commentaries (and Hammer books). It's probably just a coincidence, but I did wonder if it was Marcus narrating or not.
Laught so loud when you told about the fire trucks. Surreal😂😂
Another excellent video fellas. Keep up the good work.
I love the M1 don't get me wrong, but Challenger 2s are beasts
If anyone's interested in getting more detail on this and the Royal Scots operations during Iraqi freedom in general there's a great book called Main Battle Tank that follows them for the whole operation and gives a great ground level perspective.
I suspect a lot of the soldiers' dialogue in this video is drawn from that book actually
Please cover either Ramadi or Fallujah, I have a family member who served in Ramadi, and would be interested to see the full extent of the Battle.
another great vid
Could you cover the siege of this Tobruk on this channel or on the Intro report?
That Challenger 2 was OG during the battle.
That was gripping. Those poor Iraqis being forced to face Challengers with such inferior machinery. Has anyone measured the kajones of those firefighters? Must have been world record breaking at the time.
I love the overhead view reminds me of the very first GTA games
Awesome work mate.
What are you using for this animations? is possible to know? i’m a military advisor, and this could be a great tool for my job.
Thank you.
Yessss new video for breakfast 🤌
Could you do a series about Korean War? Not many knows how it went, the operations, or who were involved in the war
ALAMO VID!!!🗣️📣
There’s a rather disturbing parallel with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Poor, disregarded conscripts using antiquated tech in a war they probably wouldn’t otherwise want to fight. My understanding from the first Gulf War was that most of the Iraqi troops were conscripts as well (feel free to correct me).
Hey love your videos I have a quick question what editor do you use to make there animations and map battles
Thanks!
The waterway where the pontoon was built was the basrah canal, not the Shat Al Arab waterway.
