Thanks a million bro, please keep posting Wix Studio contents. Also i've noticed in your videos that your voice volume is too low, please raise it up. Thanks
Good video, one question, how do i setup an email notification when someone fills out the form? I have a client who uses this for collection resumes on a career page, another developer had set it up using the same method your showing, but i cant find where to add the business owners email address so they can get notified that a new resume has been submitted, is this possible? Thanks!
Yes, it is possible to set up a notification for your client each time a CMS form gets submitted. I cover how to set it up in another video. Here's a link to exact moment where I show how to do it. ruclips.net/video/YCnL3bSpObk/видео.htmlsi=TAvgtINRqZkrxPXM&t=1583
As far as I know, you have to set your input fields up as a form with a submit button in order for them to update your collection. The input fields also need to be tied to the collection. There is another way you can do. It's called the manage content page in Wix Studio. This article from Wix has more info: support.wix.com/en/article/cms-adding-a-dynamic-page-for-editing-items-from-your-live-site
Ive come unstuck. I cant seem to get the 'form submitted' message to appear nor does it create a new item on my collection. I did follow your instruction to the letter. Is there something special I need to do for a new item to be created through the form? What could I be doing wrong please?
This was super helpful. I have a question about users editing their data after they submit a form. Is it possible using the site membership feature to build a section were they can submit new entries to a database and also edit or update their submissions? I'm trying to build a membership directory site of local service providers. They need a profile page with the ability add their services and edit them. Thanks!
Great question! The short answer is you might be able to, but I'm not sure. I do know that you can edit the collection settings to allow site members to view, add, update, or delete content. You just go to your collections, then more actions, then permissions & privacy. Then you select what members can and can't do. However, I haven't ever tested this so I'm not exactly sure how it works. But it seems like it might be possible. I'll have to try this sometime.
@@kdc-m thanks for that info. I've been build a site in Duda, if you've heard that one. But wix studio might be better suited for what I'm doing. I'm interested in your Wix Studio course to get me started. I still find their interface to be a bit confusing.
Sorry for the slow reply. I haven't heard of Duda before, but I know there are a lot of good website builders out there. Glad to hear you're interested in the course! The interface is a bit confusing but the course helps to address that.
I'm pullling my hair out, I have gone back a 100 times trying to figure out why it's not "submitting" - dataset, connections, etc are all good and rewatched this 100 times - the only thing I can think of is that it is the old editor not studio? could that be my problem becaseu I cannot get into stacks?
It should work in both editors. The stacks shouldn't be the issue. Stacks are a way to group elements inside of Wix Studio. They aren't required in order to use CMS. But I'm sorry you're having issues. Wix has recently updated how CMS works so I need to do a new tutorial on how to create CMS input forms. It's probably a setting or two that's off that's causing the entire thing not to work. It's happened to me before and it's very frustrating. If I could look at your specific case I could probably help you fix the issue, but it's hard to know unless I'm looking at the site itself.
@@kdc-m well i figured for the time being what my problem was, the problem is that I am trying to connect different elements to different datasets on the same page and either set of elements keep reverting to the others dataset. I'bve spent 2 days trying to troubleshoot and am not getting anywhere and my entire site is based on this capability 🤦♀

You're welcome! Thanks for the tip about the audio. I'll have to look into that.

I have the same issue - have you figured it out yet?
Yes I hadn’t used a dynamic dataset. All seems to work now but make sure you assign the CMS correctly.

The volume of your videos is deficient. Please adjust the volume of the microphone. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment! The volume in my early videos is deficient unfortunately. I have since improved the volume in more recent videos.
