hey guys! I hope you all enjoyed this video of me constantly failing at Fitz's digging box until I finally get it right and decent looking. I think I did a pretty good job, what do you think? hopefully she likes it! :)

I loooove the dig box! im thinking about giving my beardie one when I upgrade his tank. I love the idea of a dig box instead of a full substrate cage, seems a lot easier to clean and keep sanitary as opposed to the entire cage being substrate.

You should use natural play sand instead of calcium sand, it's the calcium that makes reptiles want to eat it, it's also way cheaper like around $5 for a giant bag.

What I did for my bearded dragon tank was buy the package from the bio dude. It's a mixture of dirt and soil, that they can dig in and you can put plants in there to grow for the beardies to eat. Mine loves it! It always digs around and eats his greens. It's a more natural environment than tiles or rugs and its self cleaning. You put some microorganisms in there and it eats their waste and so it's a whole ecosystem in the tank.
would you still have to replace the soil every now and then, or is it self-substaining?

Thank you sm I have been trying to convince my parents to let me have a bearded dragon for 3 years and I literally made a playlist of like all of your videos with fitz and it thought me so many things and just helped me prepare and fingers crossed I get one. The names I have picked out are toothless if it is gray to black colored, Casper if it’s a light gray to white, and if it’s yellow to orange or red I’d name it mushu like the dragon from Milan; fingers crossed it’s going to be yellow to orange 🤞

If the eco earth doesn’t work for you try reptisoil! I use it and its not dusty! I love your videos! Your amazing!
Totally agree! I used eco earth for a bit & the dust would go inside my beardies nose and was stuck all over her after she went into her box. I used reptisoil for my crestie so I started to put that in my beardies pan also mixed with playsand.

I notice that you have disinfectant wipes in the background. Do you use these for quick clean ups in your beardie tanks? That would make life so easy lol. I have the exact same set up as you with the zen habitat and the black mat. Thanks in advance for any advice. Also great video, getting ready to make a dig box soon!

Okay after further watching your video. I would suggest you use Play Sand, and Organic Top Soil. Eco earth hold humidity to long, and that calcium sand clumps up. ✌🏽
Go with top soil play sand mix. Coconut fiber isn't digestible

That is a nice bearded dragon! I have a bearded dragon as well! His name is Rex, but a bearded dragon is not the only pet I have. I also have 2 more pets, and they are both red-eyed tree frogs. Their names are Naveen and Jade. Naveen is living in his terrarium, but Jade is in a temporary quarantine for 90 days, because I just got him/her.
