It's been almost 8 years and I still remember all of this like it was yesterday. Ryan is still in my life in podcast and video archives and I'm lucky for it. Excited to have that glass of whiskey next month. Pour one out, Duders.
Holy shit I actually teared up at Jeff and Ryan singing together. They were best fucking friends. thick as thieves. I can't even begin to imagine how Jeff feels. Every time he finds something funny or thinks of an idea I bet he turns to tell someone about it who just isn't there anymore.
Matthew Potts The chemistry between them sometimes was pure magic. They threw verbal curveballs at each other only their specific counterpart was able to return, which often transformed normal discussions on the bombcast into hillarious, priceless moments of inpromptu comedy.
How do you know they were best friends? Jeff has never said as much. They were good friends, that doesn't mean they were "best friends, thick as thieves"
Even though I never met the man, it's weird how once in awhile I find myself missing Ryan Davis terribly and watching videos like this. It sometimes feels like I lost a friend or family member, if that makes sense.
Fun fact: The Minecraft Creative Mode Song by C418 called Taswell is about Ryan Taswell Davis, so the 1st half is C418 at Ryan's funeral mourning and crying because of his death, and the 2nd half is them celebrating his life and remembering the good memories of him, which is why it sounds happy and sad, so long story short, it's a farewell song. I wonder if Ryan listens to the song in heaven.
oh god the laugh at @6:30.the pure, concentrated happiness thundering into my eardrums. it isn't even the joke that makes me laugh, simply hearing ryan laugh makes it infinitely funnier. i miss you so much ryan.
Every so often I like to watch back through these collections and calibrate my humor, the man was a legend for those of us who followed the cast and the sites
I only listened to Giant Bomb for a short while a loooong time ago and on an irregular basis, but when I think of Giant Bomb now, I remember Ryan Davis. If there is one name that I call to mind, that I will remember from the podcast, it is his. This video shows some reasons why Ryan made everyone around him smile. Seeing the news of his death truly saddened me, even though I knew very little about him, and many others felt the same way. That's how you know you led a good life. That you had a profound effect on people. RIP Ryan. You were amazing.
Old giant bomb is great. Giant beastcast, was the shit. Nexlander is awesome, but this raw energy that Ryan and Jeff had will never be matched. Still try to support Alex, brad and ,Vinny on their new site, and Jeff with his Patreon
Only started getting into Giant Bomb literally 2 weeks after Ryan passed away. It's still fun and laugh regularly, but this stuff is absolutely irreplaceable. The synergy between Jeff and Ryan is something I've not seen and it's a really shame. Ryan was a fucking riot.
You know what's the worst thing about this? I'm actually finding myself so getting used to Ryan's absence that it's starting to feel weird whenever I look back in these old videos with him, like I'm forgetting he used to be such a major part of the site. I'm starting to forget about Ryan.
Hey, when did they play Starmade? That's awesome! You did a really good job of capturing Ryan's greatness with this video, duder. He would approve. :-)
hey who's the guy playing the bass at the end? I remember enjoying one of his albums but I can't remember what his name is and can't figure out how to search it
It'll be 10 years this July that we lost Ryan. He was the best. That last sentence of the video is completely true. LOVE Ryan Davis
Yup

10 years man. Mad.
Ryan and Jeff were the best buddy cops ever.
"We'll never forget you Ryan".
We haven't, and we won't. o7
god damnit. I miss him so much. I never knew him in real life, but he was a part of most of my days. RIP Ryan FUCKING Davis!
Ryan Davis will never die.

Fully - I do think Jeff has changed somewhat...I think round Ryan he could just go full Jeff.
Matthew Potts The chemistry between them sometimes was pure magic. They threw verbal curveballs at each other only their specific counterpart was able to return, which often transformed normal discussions on the bombcast into hillarious, priceless moments of inpromptu comedy.
im not normally that sensitive but the singing got me

I feel the exact same way. How odd we humans are?
I feel the same and I didn't even know he existed until a couple of weeks ago. I've actually teared up a bit.
Same here bud
"Oh, we can't play anymore of this, Jeff."
"Why..?"
"Because this is terrible!"
LOL
This is a gift that keeps on giving Ashley. Thank you
Never forget the Nacho Boss. The King of the Summer Jams.
14:18 always gets me. It had to be a joy to work alongside him. So glad we had him, such a pity we lost him so soon.

Jeff forcing Ryan to watch Game Room never fails to bring me so much joy.
Chris: "What are your thoughts on Megan's Law?"
Ryan: "AAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!"
oh god the laugh at @6:30.the pure, concentrated happiness thundering into my eardrums. it isn't even the joke that makes me laugh, simply hearing ryan laugh makes it infinitely funnier. i miss you so much ryan.
OMG that scene of Jeff and Ryan singing was AMAZING!!!
I love coming back to this video, this is such a nice tribute. Good job, dude
Never forget that Buckner & Garcia's final recording was a song about Giant Bomb
Every so often I like to watch back through these collections and calibrate my humor, the man was a legend for those of us who followed the cast and the sites

This was so great to watch. So wonderfully bittersweet. Can't believe he's gone.
Every Tuesday I wake up and I still hear in my head. "Hey everybody it's Tuesday I'm Ryan Davis..."

he expresses the greatest showmanship I've ever seen in a person ever.
I miss Ryan so much still, he was so great, ever since the days of On the Spot to Giant Bomb, he lit up a room with his personality. Love that man

At least in the meantime watching this video won't get old for at least 25 years.
I'm still really missing Ryan, I loved that guy :[
My first ever episode of the bombast was Ryan's last, wish I could have watched all this as it happened.
Rider meet horse , horse meet rider.
Ryan really had a thing for pies lol. Thinking about the story where he sat on a pie on his honeymoon.
This video is the kind of thing you keep close for the rest of time.
Rest In Power
You know what's the worst thing about this? I'm actually finding myself so getting used to Ryan's absence that it's starting to feel weird whenever I look back in these old videos with him, like I'm forgetting he used to be such a major part of the site. I'm starting to forget about Ryan.
