That was great. Unmistakenly 70's! Totally new name for me. Love that guitar tone! Just looked him up and he was in Procul Harum before this.
You can take a break from Rush for Trower anytime. Amazing guitarist!! Bridge of Sighs, Day of the Eagle, Too Rolling Stoned, I Want To TakeYou With Me, and so many more great songs. Rock On!!
Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs was one of my favs when 17 years old.
You should really watch Trower play. His facial expressions are epic.
Red I can't recall seeing you so mesmerized throughout a song ❤ The drums on that were spectacular 💯💯💯
Drums courtesy of Bill Lordan right on
Love me some Robin Trower... His "Bridge of Sighs" album is a classic among classics.
Robin Trower / James Dewar are my absolute favourite musicians . Lisa Dewar and I use to keep in touch ( Scotland ) . Robin is from England and James is from Scotland - vocalist and bass player . Listen to Robin Trower at Winterland concert please . Try Yngwie Malmsteen . Another gifted musician . 🇺🇸✨🇨🇦🎸🎼🎼🎼🎼👋
Bridge of Sighs was probably Robin’s best known but he had so many great songs. Fender made a signature guitar with his name on it.
So much music from these eras that was mind blowing that I believe sadly, will never be duplicated.
Robin Trower! My favourite guitar player. Incredible songwriter too. Add to that the incomparable Jimmy Dewar on bass and vocals and you have one of the best bands ever. 👏👏👏👏 thanks for sharing. A marvellous day to all.
Putting Rush on hold for this is a happy coincidence. Robin Trower and this lineup were considered one of the first, if not the first, power trios. Rush came later with power from only three members.
Robin loved the wha wha peddles....such a heavy blues rock legend.
The voice is the bassist James Dewer, the drummer is either Reg Isidore or Bill Lordan, and guitarist is Robin Trower himself.
Robin uses the usual string bends on his Fender Stratocaster but also mainly uses the Wah-Wah foot pedal for his signature sounds, all driven through Marshal Stack amplifiers, the classic rock setup.
He was HUGE during the 70s and his concerts were electric.
Must listens are: Day of the Eagle and Bridge of Sighs and Too Rolling Stoned... Robin basically took the Rock Guitarist God reigns a couple years after Jimi Hendrix passing, in fact they were commonly compared to each other, obviously so.
Phenomenal guitarist I've seen him live great performer
Oh Yeah! Blast from the past! I had a close friend who was in a local cover band back in the early '80's, he had a guitar that was signed by Robin hisself and played it very well. They played a lot of Trower and always got the most applause from those. His singing voice even sounded a lot like Trower. I never saw the real band live, but my buddy's band was the next best thing and I could go see that every Saturday night!
I love Robin one of my favorite guitarist his tone is unmatched Try Too Rolling Stoned watch him live Peace to ya
Fifty years later and Robin Trower is still touring! Coming to a city near you
Trower is amazing! He has many other great guitar jams n songs! ❤
This is 🔥 📛 so are you Red ❤❤❤
I never heard of this group BUT that was great! Gave me that college spring fling music festival sounds from the past.❤
This is a great live performance. I can tell he was influenced by Jimi Hendrix a lot.
There is no video for this song. Instead I focused on looking at you.
The green blouse matches your eyes. I was impressed by your chest.
❤
I loved to hear James Dewar singing with Robin. He was also the bassist and appears on several of the earlier albums but sadly died of a stroke at the age of 59 as he was a long lime sufferer of CADASIL which is hereditary. Robin continues to perform with a different singer. You'll notice that this is another 3 piece like Rush. I bought some of the early albums as I was a big Hendrix fan. So also bought a lot of Mahogany Rush ! By the way Robin does an amazing version of Sailing originally recorded by Rod Stewart.
Yes! Sailing~
Check out his live album from this period. The drummer Bill Lordan(?) was also a drummer in Sly and the Family Stone.
Robin left Procol Harum to go out on his own, he was a world class guitarist. Saw this band in San Francisco in 1975. Daydream and Bridge of Sighs were memorable. I believe the singer was James Dewar.
lndeed
Robin’s playing is incredible I heard somewhere that after Jimi Hendrix passed away people thought Robin would get a push from the record company bigwigs because they had a similar style
You should try Too Rolling Stoned next.
Wah-wah pedal Red.
I would really recommend you listening to pretty much any track off the album "Bridge of Sighs" by this amazing British blues-rock guitarist who is still playing live! RIP James Dewar, vocalist and bass player extaordinaire - possibly one of the best rock vocalists ever. (It's a wah-wah pedal by the way :-) )
Vintage 70s rock from Strat master, Trower. The late Glen Dewar is the vocalist.
The ‘Robin Trower Live!’ Official release 1976! Offers the best versions of each Song!
To be rediscovered!!
James Dewar not Glen. Died in 2002.
Waa waa pedal
Too Rolling Stoned Live! Ya gotta.

She already has
I've seen Robin in concert. Just him, bass player and a wall of speakers. P.S. Robin doesn't sing, when I saw him it was the bass player.
