- For Episode 3 I tested one of the biggest Rivals out there. The S2000 vs the Miata. This was my first time driving a Miata and I have to say it was fun. Now was it enough to overcome my love for the Honda's and the S2k. I found that the Miata was very precise and drove like a go kart and although underpowered it felt like it was faster then the s2k. In the end it wasn't. The S2000 on the other hand felt like home, the engine, handling and just the entire feel of the car, felt right. Now this specific s2k I found still needs some refinement, benefiting from some additional suspension tuning and downforce would make huge improvements in the lap times. Later Talking with the owner he agreed the car wasn't anywhere near done and was working on a rear wing and additional suspension goodies. I really enjoyed my time on the track with both cars and in the end the S2k come out the winner.

appreciate the comparison although it sounds controversial. i know most people would say the s2000 win at everything. when you considered the "goals" for time and speed vs easy and fun, that was cool
100% not everyone is out for pure speed. The Miata is a great budget car that you can have a ton of fun in and I hope I got that across to anyone that watches.

That's the only way to drive a Honda - 9k all day. fully agree
Good insights, but you left a lot of performance on the table with the S2K by short shifting. The AP1 needs to see the redline regularly, and never fall below 6K RPMs.
100% true and if it was my car it would have lived between 8-9k andI would have maybe been 1 second or 2 at most faster towards a PB. But even at that the car wouldn't have gone sub 2.
In the end I enjoyed both cars and being able to drive both back to back was a great experience. Headed out with a supra next
