You see, Sinotherium and Elasmotherium are two separate genera, while Panthera atrox and spelaea are species of the same genus. It's the same for Tyrannosaurus, Paraceratherium, and Parasaurolophus having Tarbosaurus, Juxia and Charonosaurus as alternate genus skins, this will be the same thing done to Apatosaurus having Brontosaurus as an alt genus skin in update 12. It's a good system that Prehistoric Kingdom has by making closely related genera of an animal as a skin instead of making a separate model.

Sinotherium is a completely separate genera, it’s likely an ancestor to elasmotherium and their somehow related in the same way they’re both relatives to modern rhinos. Whether as both cave lions are different species but the same genera.

While Sinotherium is a likely ancestor of Elasmotherium, elasmotherines as a whole are completely extinct - they have no descendants among modern rhinos.

Panthera Artox is the American Lion, while Panthera Spelaea is the Eurasian Cave / Steppe Lion.

Another way to remember is stalactite has a C for 'ceiling' while stalagmite has a G for 'ground'.
