I bet this dance team has more of a status at the school than the cheerleaders. At my HS, everyone wanted to be in cheer and looked up to the cheerleaders as inspiration. Our dance team was good, but not...definitely not this freaking good 😂 IMO, dance teams are the ones to want to look up to. You can't grow up to be a cheerleader, but you can absolutely grow up to be a dancer. #DanceIsFabulous

It had become a joke and then when we had a guy want to join that year she changed it from Drill to Dance team because he didn't want to be on a drill team. He was the only guy and only ever did one thing. He was a good dancer don't get me wrong, but he didn't belong on the team and he didn't belong as a captain. I loved the woman watching us, but she didn't really know what to do with us, she just kept coming up with wild ideas and got mad when not everyone could do them. She also got mad when everyone encouraged a freshman saying she was doing great and said don't lie to her. That girl had very little self confidence and most of us were aware of that. But yeah cheerleaders do tend to get away with more than anyone else. At the school I work in now, the cheerleaders really don't even do much at the peprallies. They do a dance and a cheer or two, but the cheerleaders in my school were a lot more exciting to watch because we got to see some of their competition stuff, not so at this school.
You can do it! Actually, everything you see was fundraised by the kids on the weekends! TONS of car washes:) We are given a budget of $0.00- haha! I tell them, if they want costumes they have to work for it! So they do. It is proof that anyone can do it!!! We also don't have a dance room- it was a closet space that was turned into a dance room, kinda, but we make it work somehow. So you can do it! All the power to you!

I was in this dance class in 2nd period and through second period all the way till 8th period you have to memorize every step then once you are either home or waiting for the after school bus you practice till you have it perfect then go to school the next day and have to learn 2 new dance in 5 days for the assembly and still remember the first one it's hard . BET

We have an amazing student council group who lets us do whatever we want to the theme of the assemblies! We are very lucky!

IMO, dance teams are the ones to want to look up to. You can't grow up to be a cheerleader, but you can absolutely grow up to be a dancer.

Our cheerleaders were a joke (and fat). Our dance team on the other hand won all sorts of competitions and were amazing.
