Good grief.

its so difficult to be a beginner artist on the internet nowadays and its so disheartening to see. its baffling how the climate has changed. when i was a beginner in middle school posting my drawings online in 2018 everyone was so nice and encouraging to me. and that really gave me the confidence i needed to keep pursuing the hobby. if i was at that skill level now and tried to post my art with the way the community currently is, i probably wouldve quit a long time ago. and thats probably the sad reality for a lot of new folks starting out. i really hope with enough pushback that changes. thank you for getting your voice out there to push towards the betterment of our community
Hence why I only post my art on Cara now. I mean, it's not the whole reason but...Cara just gives me less crippling dread & anxiety than the rest of the internet.
Only if you can handle the toxicity, if it's too awful for you then you can delete it and find a community that you're more comfortable with. /gen I won't be able to understand because TikTok is banned in my country, but it's your choice.

the normalization of being mean on the internet pisses me off so much do people seriously not have anything else or better to do than to hate and bully a small, friendly artist who just wanted to share their art?? every time an artist gets bullied off TikTok an angel loses its wings 💀💀
I think I may have commented this before but I'm in love with the way you render like both the process and result. It's fascinating in the same way watching an optical illusion is
I've been criticized for my artstyle from the first time i picked a pen up. Because of the criticism, i now struggle with maintaining one. Young artists don't need critism. They need support. I was very self aware as a child & even refused to call my drawings art because of the comments i got from classmates, family etc. I already knew i needed to improve, people pointing that out just made me feel bad about myself.
0:38 - i'd say that they were just trying to help. and they were just recommending. there comment did not sound rude in any way. it just sounded like they wanted to help the artist improve in anatomy (they prob didn't know that the artist would feel that way)
Tbh people just gotta accept that everyone does not draw exactly the same and ACTUALLY BE SUPPORTIVE of newer artist. All the hate that the newer artist are getting is just sickening. BTW LOVE THE ART 🫶!
Sometimes I think that since people on TikTok are really critical depending on what they see (Not everyone) that it even seems like saying a simple “can you give me tips?” or showing a photo or animation that doesn't hurt from a beginner artist, they already send them that I don't know...the "oh!" or that I don't know what 😭😭
I appreciate you making this video, recently I’ve been seeing a small trend in which fandom Oc’s (Demon Slayer Oc’s specifically) get compared to other artists Oc’s because they apparently look “cringe” to them which I find really disrespectful.
Exactly for me I struggle to draw due to my handwriting problem caused by my mental disabilities struggle to write perfectly and I don't want to show my OCs or anything I do plan making something big out of it something everyone has a different art style
As a kid, i was encuraged on the internet to keep making art. i received compliments on my art, i think it looks very silly now, but i was so proud of it. I'd say im getting a whole lot better at art, and that wouldn't have happened if i had people doing stuff like this to me
WHAT, WHAT, WHAT DEEEEE HELLLL, OH NAH THE WORLD GOTTA GO Nine ropes, polarized light, crow and declaration, the gap between front and back, INFINITE PERCENT, HOLLOW PURPLE
The TikTok trend is foolish and I'm thankful that I'm not on the TikTok side of the art community, also your art is pretty, and I love your art style and drawing process!
Criticizing someone's art without knowing anything about their art style, or just straight up insulting their art for no reason but to get attention is utter garbage. This is exactly why I don't recommend my channel to kids, even though they sometimes still watch it because it really IS child friendly, I just know that a lot of hate comments are from children. Most of my viewers are 30 years old or older, and I'm honestly so grateful for that-
Hey, I just saw your video pop up on my YTFYP, and I agree about how unsolicited criticism can feel shitty. One of my closest friends kept on giving me unsolicited criticism on my past art style, because the way I drew, the waist often was very very very thin. And the friend kept on kind of pointing it out again and again. They once drew over a reference sheet I made, criticizing about how thin the waist was and drew a very rough scribble of where the spine should be and kept on pointing out again and again about how my characters never had any spines. Now it’s something I’m self conscious of when drawing. It hurt a lot then because they didn’t praise the art or anything, didn’t even say it was good, I didn’t even say “ehh it looks bad.” I just posted the art, happy and proud of it and felt like I was ridiculed. I think at the time it also didn’t help that for that piece of art I drew I spent 4-5 hours straight on it and it was going to be used as a reference for when art fight came around (at that time it was around March-ish) and I ended up just scrapping it because their criticism just hit the wrong nerve. Sorry for venting about that-. My brain tries to relate to stuff and just dumps a bit too much. Also, I love your art style! *hug*

I think the main problem and TikTok and such is that no one recognises that people have different opinions, and that their allowed those opinions
8:02 TYSM BRE FOR PUTTING MY ART IN A VID!! YEYEYEYEYEYYEYEYEYEHEHEHEY
Congrats to u~~
@@paulinelol3930 awh tyy!! :D
It’s so funny how literally all of art Tik Tok’s drama could be avoided if people had common sense to just not be mean to people and scroll it’s the easiest thing ever and yet nobody ever does it?? 😭😭
That’s messed up.
Bullying artists should NOT become a trend.
And this is why I don't use Tiktok, I have better things to do than watch my art be ripped to shreds by some losers in their mother's basement
Your fanart slaps as always🗣️🙏
(Talking abt the fanart that usually plays in the backgrounds of videos)
When I saw Miku and Teto I was so happy!!!! (I love your art style BTW)
Bre having to come in every five business days to explain to tiktok artists why "cyber-bullying isn't good, actually" is amusing as it is soul-sucking.
People can turn anything bad into a trend and get away with it😭
My only thought is: I want to literally scream at the trend.
I'm so glad this is talked about 😭
You're really good at art, and thank you for mentioning this problem it really helps to how I can change my why to credit art and how others credit my art. Again, you make really great and beautiful art.
Imagine taking the time out of your life to give an artist on the internet uncalled-for comments, being surprised that said artist gets offended and responds back defending themselves, going back and forth with them not knowing that you're in the wrong, and then still wondering "why are artists so hostile?"
Good grief.
Glad that you talked about the “unwanted criticism thing” because clearly people on tik you doesn’t know what a stylistic choice is and I hate when they get upset because I have found a style that finally fits me and I don’t want to change it to please them❤ thank you for always pointing out things other people tends to ignore❤❤❤
Thank you for always bringing light to stuff like this.❤🙂
At this point TikTok art is the equivalent of “ahh it’s js sooo hard to scroll on this video I hate I guess I’ll js leave a hate comment 🤧🤧🤧🤭🤭🤭” in fact that’s js social media in short
bullying beginner artists for their art style is so wrong the fact that this crossed any ones mind that "oh this would be a great trend" is wild
I agree i had someone comment on my miku drawing saying not to rely on white for highlights and black for shadows i just said thanks but i didnt really find it helpful as a young artist i know my style i like the way i shade as it was a quick drawing
I’m so sorry but the Dolphins ballsack reply absolutely slaughters me every single time that I read it, the whole joke is lined up so fucking good, everything from the way the original poster liked their own comment in retaliation towards the criticism to the tone in which said dolphin’s ballsack reply can be read is enough to send somebody with humour as dooky as mine into cardiac arrest 😭🤣
its so difficult to be a beginner artist on the internet nowadays and its so disheartening to see. its baffling how the climate has changed. when i was a beginner in middle school posting my drawings online in 2018 everyone was so nice and encouraging to me. and that really gave me the confidence i needed to keep pursuing the hobby. if i was at that skill level now and tried to post my art with the way the community currently is, i probably wouldve quit a long time ago. and thats probably the sad reality for a lot of new folks starting out. i really hope with enough pushback that changes. thank you for getting your voice out there to push towards the betterment of our community
Watching you colouring your art is like asmr but visual. Very cool.
I agree!! Art is such a vulnerable thing for a lot of people and to post it is scary, so having people bully them is just cruel.
Hence why I only post my art on Cara now. I mean, it's not the whole reason but...Cara just gives me less crippling dread & anxiety than the rest of the internet.
As a daily user of the app and an artist myself, Tik tok in general is so toxic that I'm starting to question if having an account at all is worth it.
Only if you can handle the toxicity, if it's too awful for you then you can delete it and find a community that you're more comfortable with. /gen
I won't be able to understand because TikTok is banned in my country, but it's your choice.
Not only just tiktok, all social media
Bre i love how u make ur art! Ur characters looking like dolls is pretty cool and something that really only you can make. I can see all the characters you've made in a doll house. Keep up the good work!
IM SORRY BUT.. SHRIVLED UP DOLPHIN BALLSACK. safe to say i was cackling and wheezing💀✊
Same 😭
I don't know why, but I was contemplating if I should be surprised or cackling
Holy shit I love your artstyle sm, and the character for the commentary is so cutely drawnn
Those hands on the drawing were scrumptious
I actually am happy I found you on you tube because I feel like you've given me more of a thought on what I say to people and how it can effect them. btw love your art style
the normalization of being mean on the internet pisses me off so much
do people seriously not have anything else or better to do than to hate and bully a small, friendly artist who just wanted to share their art??
every time an artist gets bullied off TikTok an angel loses its wings 💀💀
I think I may have commented this before but I'm in love with the way you render like both the process and result. It's fascinating in the same way watching an optical illusion is
"Social media has made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." - Mike Tyson
0:38 - i'd say that they were just trying to help. and they were just recommending. there comment did not sound rude in any way. it just sounded like they wanted to help the artist improve in anatomy (they prob didn't know that the artist would feel that way)
This is a amazing video. BTW, and I hate how disgusting these trends are..
This has nothing to do with the problem at hand but the mesmerizer fanart at the end was so good ❤❤
ik this is offtopic but the way u draw is so interesting like how do u color like that im obsessed
Just read the title and oh my gosh those words alone make me scared to fully enter the art community
I love the mesmerizer art in the background!!
Tbh people just gotta accept that everyone does not draw exactly the same and ACTUALLY BE SUPPORTIVE of newer artist. All the hate that the newer artist are getting is just sickening. BTW LOVE THE ART 🫶!
I agree, just bullying somebody to be in a "trend" is so stupid and gross.
also omg your mesmerizer drawing is so cool!
I can imagine the 2 who apologized to each other looking at what happened with a wtf face
why do i love this woman’s hand drawing art style so much
Sometimes I think that since people on TikTok are really critical depending on what they see (Not everyone) that it even seems like saying a simple “can you give me tips?” or showing a photo or animation that doesn't hurt from a beginner artist, they already send them that I don't know...the "oh!" or that I don't know what 😭😭
i love the internet...
nice vid btw
oughhh the jinx speedpaint in the back is actually so good
This is why I'm too scared of posting my art anywhere
I appreciate you making this video, recently I’ve been seeing a small trend in which fandom Oc’s (Demon Slayer Oc’s specifically) get compared to other artists Oc’s because they apparently look “cringe” to them which I find really disrespectful.
Tbh I either hit them w the classic “ok” or “then make a better on if it’s bad” 💀
There’s always something going on in the art community around TikTok I swear☠️😭
bullying artists is just not okay, it could effect their self esteem
Exactly for me I struggle to draw due to my handwriting problem caused by my mental disabilities struggle to write perfectly and I don't want to show my OCs or anything I do plan making something big out of it something everyone has a different art style
“For five seconds of fame, people won’t even remember your username by the time you scroll.” ATEEEE
They turned it to a WHAT
(I haven’t used TikTok in a while)
“Would u like to share ur beginner art with the class” is SCATHING. I’m obsessed
5:01 I was singing mesmerizer and didn't notice what you were drawing. when i saw the pose I just knew lol-
(btw I like your art)
GAHHH?!? BRE DREW JINX😨😨
It’s so scrumptious:)
and the fact whole concept of bullying being a trend is just stupid😭
As a kid, i was encuraged on the internet to keep making art. i received compliments on my art, i think it looks very silly now, but i was so proud of it. I'd say im getting a whole lot better at art, and that wouldn't have happened if i had people doing stuff like this to me
“Everything have their ups and downs, and some mostly have downs”
-probably someone
6:16 guys is that hatsune micheal and teto?!!!??
Michael-(btw ik it's supposed be miku
CRAP I FORGOT THE OTHER )
Yes
WHAT, WHAT, WHAT DEEEEE HELLLL, OH NAH THE WORLD GOTTA GO Nine ropes, polarized light, crow and declaration, the gap between front and back, INFINITE PERCENT, HOLLOW PURPLE
Oooh what are all the statements from?/genq these sound really cool
@@hoshiworks_aster well I know the last one is JJK (Jiujutsu Kaisen), dunno if the others are
The TikTok trend is foolish and I'm thankful that I'm not on the TikTok side of the art community, also your art is pretty, and I love your art style and drawing process!
your jinx art is so cute ✨💕
Criticizing someone's art without knowing anything about their art style, or just straight up insulting their art for no reason but to get attention is utter garbage. This is exactly why I don't recommend my channel to kids, even though they sometimes still watch it because it really IS child friendly, I just know that a lot of hate comments are from children. Most of my viewers are 30 years old or older, and I'm honestly so grateful for that-
Oh just another day in the art community
GIRL THE ART IN THE BACKGROUND IS SO GOOD LIKE WHAT THE FARTTT MAN HOWWW
*hug*
