    Okay some advice from someone who has trained in musical theatre and used to audition (and pass) because I was kind of bored, the reason you do exercise is NOT for nerves. It’s actually for breath support and core strength. Actual helpful advice: don’t need to run and definitely don’t go to the gym and disturb other people (that’s weird), you can just do star jumps, pace yourself. The motion of your body and the constant moving not only targets core strength, but also starts to train you to stabilise your voice. This means you’re not out in public, potentially putting yourself in danger by not being able to hear anything when on a run or if you don’t have anywhere to run. Doing light exercise whilst singing a song you know well targets what actually matters, your vocals.
    Another thing you should be doing is working out your core because the diaphragm is where everything happens, you have a weak diaphragm, then you have a weak voice.
    Unfortunately, the only useful information in this video is her saying to record yourself and that you need to warm up. Key word: NEED. If you don’t, you strain your voice. Strained voice means bad vocals and the worse you sound, the harder you try to sound good but the harder you try, the more damage you’re doing. There are thousands of warm ups for specific vocals and techniques on RUclips that are only like 10 minutes long. Trust me. It will save you and also helps with basic technique.
    The order of this video isn’t very good. After warm ups, start warming up your body, you want to be looser and have less tension when training because tension only leads to more tension and then the exercises aren’t worth it. Doing exercises whilst singing is NOT for range or technique. You will NOT improve these aspects by doing this. To improve range, you need again, find tutorials because this type of stuff is best taught by professionals so you can understand your vocals more, incorporating techniques from RUclips tutorials by pros DOES actually help but be patient.
    Versatility and range can only be improved when you know your own mechanics, once you’ve got some basic understanding, only then should you start focusing on how to properly execute methods. It’s so easy to break your voice when you think you’re helping it. Nerves however, cannot be quelled by stamina and stability training which is what this video is about. To help nerves, you need to familiarise yourself with pressure, practice in public spaces (don’t be weird and disrupt the peace of others like in gyms or close quarters to strangers). To help anxiety under this type of pressure, you need to put yourself in more situations like this, if you can’t go in public, post on your social media. The more you get used to being in the public eye and having people have feedback and opinions on you, the more confident you become to face an audience at an audition
    To help with pitch, you should probably learn how to understand pitch. Pitch is with the ears, you can train yourself to identify good pitch. Choose your song and then use online pitch tools to find out the pitch of the song and then the pitch of your voice without the song. Doing this over and over again does help but all of this process isn’t fast even if you just hire a vocal coach, it takes time.
    My training has been similar to that of a trainee, it’s tiring and sometimes you wonder why you’re even there when things get stressful and you feel like you’re not improving. However, I never got weighted balls dropped onto my abdomen to build core strength (the foundation of singing) like SM used to do. You shouldn’t be worrying about dynamics and more technical things if you have bad pitch or can’t hold a note at all. You first need to train yourself to be in pitch, key and octave, use online tools for this like pitch finder etc. then work on strengthening your vocals and making them smother with the physical activities (do not hum, this does not help as much as actual singing because it’s already lighter on vocal folds than actual speech and singing).
    Work your way up! You need basics before learning more advanced things. Incorporate exercises with vocal depth and range once you’re a bit more stable and it only goes up from there
    If you can afford it, get a vocal trainer. Professional help is way more valuable than coming from just anyone online, I’ve been taught by industry professionals and just people who are good at singing and want to help others. The pros have always shown more results.
    Most important thing in an audition is not to overthink it. That gives birth to doubt and doubt kills confidence. You need a personality that is converged through your voice and dance. As someone who has trained in dance (classics and more recently commercial (type of dance kpop is) keeping a cool head goes a long way in an audition.
    Edit: techniques like BELTING are advanced, belting is HARD and easy to go wrong. Vocal range and depth can be explored alone through RUclips videos but for best results, it’s best to get a teacher. It’s so very easy to damage the vocal folds and chords when belting because not many people realise the difference between a belt and a shout and many end up shouting

      Dang you wrote a WHOLEEE paragraph about how treadmills us helpful for our singing.

    • @KawaiiKermit
      @KawaiiKermit 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@PrefinaMarveliaTresorMbe-wo5gscorrection, I wrote about how it’s best NOT to use a treadmill and sing out loud in a public gym. That’s not only disrespectful to other people who pay to go there by disturbing them, BUT to keep it a respectful volume, you wouldn’t be actually singing, you’d have to hum or speak quietly which doesn’t have the same effects on your vocal chords and vocal folds. Of course you can go to the gym and hum a song whilst running, but that’s not going to do anything compared to running or doing literally basic exercise like home workouts and singing properly. This is common knowledge when you train in performing arts. I am sorry that your reading comprehension isn’t all there.

      @@KawaiiKermit oh ok you know I was shocked because what you wrote about the treadmill, it was like a book but I do really respect you for telling me and other people about singing tips and since I have a really great voice, this could help me a lot but I have a question, for people who can sang but they have mucus in their throat, do you know how we can sing without having to clear our voices while we're singing ? If so how?

    • @KawaiiKermit
      @KawaiiKermit 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@PrefinaMarveliaTresorMbe-wo5gsI have a very mucusy throat and have some sinus issues. I haven’t found anything that has gotten ridden of the issue (I’m trained in musical theatre singing) but there are tablets you can buy that help clear your throat if you have a cold or if you have a strained throat (some of them don’t work as well as others so it’s really finding the ones that work best for you). I’m actually looking into throat surgery because I believe my tonsils are part of the problem since they swell up if I’m sick and one time I had to go to hospital because I was basically suffocating from them being so swollen. From my own research, there are many causes for extra mucus and sometimes it’s just health issues with your throat and nose that require minor surgery and sometimes it’s just genetics, the only thing I found that can help out temporarily is avoiding drinking milky things, drink hot teas (there are natural herb teas like Korean citron tea that really help keep the mucus away temporarily). I’ve tried a lot of things and now I’m just going to doctors to see if there’s a medical reason. Another thing is air pollution, your air could be full of dust etc and it can effect your throat so sometimes it’s as simple as getting an air purifier. When I used to have professional group training during my studies of PA, I rarely had any problems with mucusy throat/nose so I’m pretty sure having solid warmups can help too (another reason why warmups are so important). Whilst im writing this, I have a super mucusy throat and I tried to record a singing cover but it sounded terrible, that’s probably because I might be getting sick, I think the only way to stop this particular problem is seeing a doctor because even if it’s not medical, they might give you tips from a medical point of view. Another tip is just getting a vocal tutor because they really have a deep understanding of the throat and nasal passages (this is where I learned about the anatomy of the throat in detail) but not everyone can afford that and it takes several sessions with a teacher to start understanding your own throat so it’s not an option for a lot of people unfortunately

    The first question: I am 24 years old. If I apply to one of the companies, will they accept my age or not?
    The second question: If I finish the training course in one of the Korean companies like YG or others, will I become a famous Ader or not?

    I'm about to turn 18 and I have no talent in any category. I feel extremely discouraged because even if I were to practice and become talented within 2 years I would be too old by the time I audition so they wouldn't want me:( For context, I have always dreamed of being an idol but never took it seriously because I figured my parents wouldn't either. I've wasted so much time
