Thank you! Yes, there is a fine line I tried to walk to give a nod to Trader Sam's without it becoming a completely Disney themed, (and childish) looking space. I love vintage/retro Tiki as well as the newer artists like SHAG and Jeff Granito (former Disney artist).
This looks great! My partner and I love tiki bars and we're planning on turning our basement bar into a tiki bar. We have one of those ugly drop tile ceilings down there. I'm trying to figure out something affordable to use to cover that. It seems the rattan and reed matts are all quite expensive.
Ive seen people swag netting over the ceiling. Perhaps running 2 or 3 criss-crossed beams or boards, then get creative. I would also paint the drrop ceiling tiles brown. We actually found the rolls of reeds at a Japanese "dollar" store here in Orange County!

Love your Tiki Hut I'm in the process of building a tiki bar in my basement I live in the midwest so the actual Tiki Decor is kind of difficult to find I've been working with a local antique store she's been looking for decor for me congratulations and enjoy
Forever Bamboo is located in San Diego, but they will ship! That is where I purchased my artificial thatching. They have decorator items as well as all the rolls of textiles. Of course they have tons of bamboo too! I'm excited for you!
I love it!What was the textile that costed less that looked like bamboo matting?
On the inside? We used rolls of reeding , kind of like place mat stuff 🤷♀️
