god this is brilliant. i'd love to write a song for her voice. Such limitless potential, great range (both genre-bending, and in the more traditional sense), and impeccable tone.
All in all, fantastic. She deserves far more exposure in America than she has received.

I don't get why she can't be a bigger star. Her voice is different and she sings about things that are lost because of all the crap teenagers make up and it evolves other musicians to sing about stupid crap like butts or being high and stupid things like that she brings back all of the favorite classics we used to know and love (just because of her voice and the things she sings about)
I remember back in 2007 I saw her on stage for the first time. It was the 100 year-anniversary of Ste-Justine Hospital and I had been treated there for 2 weeks, and I was released just a few weeks before the event. I got invited to the celebration and was blown away to see this girl barely older than me with such a powerful voice.
She's been my favorite ever since.
And it is again covered in My Teenage Girl, they did great too!

Actually Nikki's been singing professionally since she was about 13. Her first album was recorded in 2007 & released in 2008. The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics really helped put her into the spotlight though. Her first album is called Ella...Of Thee I Swing

We need more talent like Nikki in the world. The only real bands that I have gotten to like since 2000 are Nikki, Lindsey Sterling, LMT Connection & newworldson. Ironically 3 of the 4 are Canadian. :oD

I 1st saw this on much music. This is something refreshing. People are wondering why she isn't more popular which is quite easy. It is the generation of smut music which is geared to younger people. What is even more confusing is the grammys award people like this for good music.
