When Kara said it's the first time she ever saw Alice smile, I lost it 😭 Kara is such a great momdroid! OMG Jackie, I haven't watched the news since around 2010. My girlfriend (later wife) started to focus on the more positive things in life rather than all the depressing news stories. Now I pretty much live in my own lil bubble. Only time I hear anything from the world is when I travel to see family/friends or if I hear streamers mention something. Ya know? I didn't even know who won our presidential election here in the USA until a week or two afterwards 😂 I was getting gas and heard folks at the pump talking about it. 🤪
This game is insanely good. I can't believe I missed this in 2020. I agree with the news - it can be really overwhelming when you see all these bad players running our lives.

When I heard about war for the first time, I cried for like a week. How could humans be so hateful and destructive towards each other, towards the planet they live on, and even towards themselves? I try to take comfort in the knowledge that not everyone is like that, that there are some people who live well and treat others well. I try to remember that we are a very very young specie on a very young planet. We have so much growing up to do. And if we manage not to blow this planet up, we will eventually reach maturity. I recently looked up Eric Erickson's theory of socio-emotional development (something I learned about in therapy), and I think humans are somewhere around 3-6 years old. A thousand years from now, if we make it, we will look back on the 21st century the way we look back at the 11th century. We will make it, but only if we learn from our past, each and every day.

Honestly, I feel like your opinion on the news is not that unpopular. If you think about it, the technological madness and information overload we live in are things our primitive brains are not prepared for. No one has all the answers and, in the face of uncertainty, the best we can do is filter out all the mental noise we can, focus on the here and now, and try to live as worthily as we can, each from their own circumstances. As for wars, while the tribalism hardwired into our brains is basically THE reason why they will never end, the good news is that it is this same reason, but focused on hope, that makes us help the wounded, trust and collaborate with others, look others in the eye and think in terms of “us”, and in a whole, dream of a better world. “Thinking of us, I've put my hopes in you”. I would recommend you start one of your streams by going to the extras and finding the video trailer called Kara and watching it. Don't look at any of the others until later in the game as they may contain spoilers... also you should hang out in the main menu and listen to the hostess her voice lines change as the game goes on... it's also worth closing your session by exiting to the menu as sometimes she will comment on what recently happened and those voice lines can only be heard when exiting from a play session not when entering one... loving it so far... I have watched many playthroughs and almost no one does it the same the first time.... for example you are the first person I have seen probe the suspect during the interrogation
