Your videos are really useful for me. I’m not training my dog as a service dog, but you’re teaching is even more applicable to me compare to other obedience training videos on RUclips. Thank you
The box game is amazing. Currently my 4months old puppy works for her treat, whether through training or puzzles...I’m going to try this with her tomorrow. 😊
@myservicedogandme Just getting an Aussie for the first time. Thanks for these videos which I think will be essential as I train. The links do not go anywhere. Also would like to buy thru your affiliate link but I don't see it. thanks.
Ms Kate, This is my second vid. 1st was “shaping(box)” with the 8wo Dobe. I kept watching because while I can’t do clicker (ms Pryor) I seen the value. I am now an amputee. Had 2 Doves over 8+ years. Izzy passed. Zeus I lost in divorce after amp incident. While I’m a huge dob fan. I think what I’ve learned and I just clicked lol many breeds can becomes awesome pets/ SA with clicker. A side/funny note. Not sure if you followed Fiona the hippo. High risk birth in captivity. Total success. They used clicker. I’m not sure when started. Bc I don’t remember it used when I first watched but definitely later. Once you’ve started to learn clicker work, like the animal, we recognize the sound. Fiona video are great overall. A premie (tiny little girl) now a big healthy precious hippo. Your flow explaining so far helps. When I was hit by a driver using cell phone i hurt my head TBI, reading is tough bc I don’t retain the info. I’ll close, it looks like a diff puppy. Memory problems. I was going to ask something..forgot..I’ll ask later.
Heya Kate, loving the videos. I've settled on getting a Labrador Retriever from a reputable breeder. Just thought I'd let you know that Sir Francis Drake was a pirate employed by Elizabeth 1st who help steel from Spanish galleons.
I absolutely love your videos!! So educational on such good things to be made aware of❤️I just started a RUclips channel with my sweet puppy and this helps

What should I do if hes not responding or problem solving to get the food and gives up? should I show him how to get the food and then let him try or jst keep waiting?
I need a psychiatric service dog. But I live in an apartment that doesn't allow dog. And I want the dog to be a German Shepherd or a standard poodle. How do i work with this.
For that type of work a poodle would be best from what I have heard, herding breeds have a higher tendency to pick up on the handlers mood and become protective. Also since they don't shed like the Shepherd do it might be easier to be allowed to have one.
You could get your doctor to write you a letter making a new puppy an emotional support animal which would give you the ability to have them in non pet housing. A service dog in training (depending on the state) does not qualify for non pet housing. Once the puppy is trained and actively tasking then they would be considered a service animal.
My dog is almost 3 and is nervous about everything and is not motivated by food. She was abused but is going to be a seizure alert dog and is naturally alerting to my seizures. But she is really scared of people. How do i approach getting rid of that fear due to of her past
The biggest thing is going to be to take your time and give her lots of short but happy experiences around people. One of the best resources is the book "Behavior Adjustment Training 2.0" it has a step by step system to teach dogs to be more comfortable around people. We have used it loads of times and absolutely love it.
My Dog and Me, LLC thank you so much she has gotten better in the time we have had her. I have had her since she was 4 months and have worked slowly with it after getting her health up first of course and the vet clearing her for training.
My Dog and Me, LLC but she is showing to be a natural and has since she was so weak she could barely hold her head up she alerted to a seizure 5 minutes before it happened now the alerts are 20 minutes before they happen and she moves things that pose a fall risk to me. It is basically just obedience and public access that she needs training on because everything else she does on her own.
Will you rescue dog “ruin” him? So, I have a pet dog who is a 8year old rescue. She is also anxious and hard to train. My friends are telling me she will “ruin” my Service Dog which I’m very nervous about. Is this true?
Your rescue wouldn't necessarily "ruin" your prospect, but dogs definitely learn from each other. So ideally, if you could spend some time training your current dog before you get your prospect that would be best. If you can help her be less anxious and little more responsive to you that would go a long way. It's not impossible to raise a well behaved puppy in the same home with dogs that have bad habits (I've done it), but it does take extra work and planning.

How many times a day do you train with a puppy?
What should I do if hes not responding or problem solving to get the food and gives up? should I show him how to get the food and then let him try or jst keep waiting?
Should I get a 1 year old dog for service?
The links in the comments no longer work. If you could please update so that I can use your affiliate links!
What should I do If dog starts chewing box?
I had not started clicker training just saying “yes” when she does what I want. Would it be too late to clicker train her she is 4 months old?
no, you can clicker train a dig whenever you want. :)
Links don’t work

Service dog in training are allowed in apartments.

CrasyWolfGirl ok thanks. I just need my parents. To agree with getting a dog.

Do you suggest puzzle toys?
Yup, we love puzzle toys!
Will get some for my future puppy in training
