Had an Osmo 2 for a week and sold it. Cheap and nasty feel with the vinyl construction. Bought a Smooth 4 and love it. Some people complain that no pan wheel on the smooth 4, but when you work out to hold the bottom trigger on the Smooth 4 it works fine. I am running an S9 Plus with no probs. Also people whine about Smooth 4 use with Andorids. Do they really think Zhiyun are not going to continually update there apps?? If anyone contemplates an Osmo , go for the original

Thanks for your input and comment. This is why I do these videos the way I do and keep it to the facts like this comparison of these two gimbals.

I try not to do negative reviews about products if I don’t like it, then I won’t review it at all and waist my time.
I like both of these, but one may be better for one person, and the other might be better for someone else. Another one is the freevision I’ve heard good things about, I just haven’t tried one yet. I try to keep my videos to facts, and yes software and firmware will be constantly updated for all of them I hope. But smooth did say the tracking was greatly improved, and I didn’t notice a difference between the smooth 3 and the smooth 4 tracking. So if that’s important then you may want to look at another one. It all depends on what fits your needs the best and how your use it. I did get used to the trigger on the smooth, and got good with the fast move top trigger they call “Phone Go”.
For me, I went mobile because of a bad back, so weight and top heavy balance have a lot to do with my decision on the one I use more.
      Thanks for watching,
      Scott

Can you try it with OIS?

I only have one phone with IOS. But it wouldn’t matter either way. Each mobile phone, different brands use different types of IOS. Some have had the jello video and some are not as affected as bad. The gimbal app have a feature to turn off iOS, but iOS is magnetic and can’t be turned off. They just crop and zoom in on the resolution and use software to add additional stabilization.
This might be why the DJI app doesn’t do 4K on apple phones, they probably zoom into the 4K video down to 1080P allowing them to correct the iOS jello affect with stout ware image stabilization.
Knowing what gimbal does better without software helping it and no iOS tells you what one will have the best results with software also helping it. This is why I used GoPro cameras and none of the gimbal applications.
Your best option might be to look for a video done with the gimbal you think will be best for you, that is also using the same phone you have.
