Michigan is one of the most beautiful places in the country.
I live near Lake Michigan and it’s such a tranquil area and of course, state. Truly fortunate to live here.
this is actually in ILLINOIS across the Lake from MICHIGAN but yes agree - Michigan is lovely
we are BLESSED to have this bountiful beautiful body of water at our doorstep - all the Great Lakes are magnificent

Pure Michigan.... I don't think people know that some parts of the lake (especially in the Upper Peninsula) can look very much like the Caribbean. Makes me nostalgic for the home of my youth.

Folks, go visit downtown Holland and South Haven. Also, when in holland, visit the big red lighthouse beach and the state park one mile from the lighthouse: stunning and gorgeous.
Been vacationing there for years and never even considered spending relaxing time, fun time, and boating time anywhere else : everything is perfect and everything is right there.
And Lake Michigan sure offers some big waves: rough waves are always fun for me
I grew up going to those shores; traveling up from Chicago. I been missing it soooooo much. I live in Nor Cal for almost 30 years. But this place Lake Michigan calls out to me.

Lake Michigan is the reason that Chicago is referred to as the Third Coast. Chicago sits right along the south west coastline and it gives the city the look and feel of a coastal city. It’s really amazing!

When it comes to my home city of Chicago, being alongside Lake Michigan is one of my favorite places to visit.
Sometimes I still prefer being on a sunny beach in Florida, but if that’s not the case, then I’ll still take Lake Michigan. Thank you, CBS Sunday Morning.

Always lived somewhere near Lake Michigan for 30 some years. Moved to the California coast for another 30 some years. Pictures never show the humidity, nor the nose hairs freezing in the winter. Grateful for the bliss to be near water. 🐬🐬

My favorite place to find solace has always been along the shores of Lake Michigan. Born and raised in and around the Chicago area, I've seen the lake from both sides and it's always so beautiful.

The Michigan side of Lake Michigan is far more beautiful than this side. I may be biased though because I live in Michigan.
If you can't find beauty on the west side of the lake you really didn't try very hard. Bias always skews perception.
@@RichardQuaid I’m not saying the west side isn’t beautiful. I’m honestly more familiar with the east side. Thus the bias. I will say the most beautiful thing I’ve seen on the west side isn’t nature at all. Seeing the Chicago skyline from the lake is awe inspiring.
The area near Glenview and Highland Park IL is great too.

Speaking of the Great Lakes, you might want to check out Lee Murdock. A Great Lakes folk singer, songwriter. He and his wife, Joanna, are lovely people and have been family friends for decades.
And don’t forget that Lake Michigan borders Wisconsin as well. I live in Door County, Wisconsin, which itself has more than 300 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline‼️👍🏻

Lake Michigan is great, but some say that Lake Superior is, well, superior.
How prevalent are the colored stones shown at the beginning of this video? (0:35) That is a really beautiful stretch of the shoreline.
They’re very common. Lots of colors. Petosky stones are a special treat.

@@rr7firefly Sure. Folks collect rocks all the time. Many beaches are private so getting to the lake can be a challenge. Michigan law says the 10’ from the water toward the shore is public.

In Racine, Wisconsin, the water temperature of Lake Michigan rarely gets above 70°.

Stop showing this lake.mwe don't need the pollution of all the cars and planes people will take to visit it and destroy it. Disappointing. A few pans and some zooms woud have been nice. The human eye does that automatically and of course we can turn our heads to get real context of our surroundings. All I saw were static shots.

Oh that's just a isolated beach don't waste your time going. Stay away ,please, I used to live in Destin and Vero beach Florida those towns and beaches are ruined by over tourism
